Former Flint official says he didn't know about dangerous water (1514 hits)

(CNN)—The former emergency manager for the city of Flint -- who was at the helm when polluted water began flowing through the taps -- claims he did not know the water was dangerous.

Speaking via his attorney, Darnell Earley said that the decision to switch Flint's water source (which is blamed for the polluted water) was made before he came on board.

"Nothing came across his desk nor was he ever advised that there was anything wrong with the water or the use of the water," attorney A. Scott Bolden told CNN Thursday on behalf of his client.

"He was relying on the experts," Bolden said.

The Flint water crisis has become a national story, and a congressional hearing on the issue was held on Wednesday.

Earley was a no-show at the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Oversight and Government Reform hearing. He declined an invitation to attend Monday, then refused to accept a subpoena issued Tuesday night.

Flint Water Bills — Government Threatens To Take Kids If Parents Don’t Pay

Flint water bills? Why is there still such a thing? Michigan government seems to lack morals to the fullest extent. It’s threatening to take kids away from parents if they don’t continue to pay their water bills.

Back in the day, there was a movie made about contaminating the drinking water of a selected group of people in order to cull the herd, if not completely eliminating them. How many of you remember the movie “Three The Hard Way?” The film starred ‘Fred Williamson,’ ‘Jim Brown,’ and Jim Kelly.’ I can also recall that I’ve mentioned this film in reference not long ago in another posting. The film suggested a method to a pro-white group and/or groups of how to disseminate the hated target group of people who happened to be of color.

~ "The Power of Sankofa" ~
Sankofa is an African word from the Akan tribe in Ghana. The literal translation of the word and the symbol is “it is not taboo to fetch what is at risk of being left behind.”
The word is derived from the words:
SAN (return),
KO (go),
FA (look, seek and take).
"The Sankofa symbolizes the Akan people’s quest for knowledge among the Akan with the implication that the quest is based on critical examination, and intelligent and patient investigation.
The symbol — shown in the photo on an interior window in the Carter G. Woodson Center — is based on a mythical bird with its feet firmly planted forward with its head turned backwards.

Thus, the Akan belief that the past serves as a guide for planning the future... To the Akan it is this wisdom in learning from the past which ensures a strong future.
The Akans believe that there must be movement and new learning as time passes, but as this forward march proceeds, the knowledge of the past must never be forgotten."

Brother Doctor Gregory Boulware, I see again the word "Sankofa." Brother, I see a little bit farther then I did on just yesterday and this meaning of "SANKOFA": 'Never To Forget," is like a light unto my path of understanding and this phrase rings deeply in my mind, "SANKOFA" to fetch what is at risk of being left behind. WOW!!! just think how many of us today would have a deeper respect and love for one to another if the story and history of are great past was told and remembered to our generation and was handed down to our seed.

Would our youth put that spike in their veins or put that powder up their noses or lift a gun to another just to prove their loyalty to the streets? SANKOFA" to fetch what is at risk of being left behind, this understanding spoke volumes as I kept on reading your words my Brother as we move foreword to the future, we must remember our great past.

Words ring in my mind about, who told you that you was UGLY? who told you that you was STUPID? Who told you that you was IGNORANT? Who tried to disrespect you and I come up with, my very own people who lost touch with SANKOFA" to fetch what is at risk of being left behind. My people that may not no or be conscious of feeding into the Maafa by discouraging and or eliminating our young black minds for the future simply by the power of the word.

But the word "Maafa" best fits this post.

Once again Brother Doctor GREAT POST.
