Local Fayetteville State University Grad On Fundraising Mission (6376 hits)

Graduating at the age of 18 magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and a minor in Spanish, MiKayla Raines, daughter of Phillip and April Raines of Bunnlevel, became one of the youngest graduates in Fayetteville State University’s history. Ms. Raines is currently running for Fayetteville State University’s National Alumni Association Queen for the 2018-19 term, and as a part of the competition she is raising money for FSU.

After graduation in 2017, Ms. Raines decided that she wanted to give back to students in the form of scholarships.

“I want to provide them with opportunities to succeed just as I was able to,” she said.

She is asking the public to support her in her journey to give back to the community by making donations to FSU for her campaign.

Anyone wishing to assist her, may contact her at MiKaylaRaines4MsFayStateAlumni@yahoo.com for more information.

Ms. Raines’ educational journey with FSU began at Cumberland International Early College High School. In May 2016, she graduated CIECHS and became a Fayetteville State Bronco in August 2016. She is currently working towards her Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in marketing with FSU’s College of Business and Economics.

As a graduate assistant, Ms. Raines assists her respective department by completing tasks and participating in sponsored events such as Youth Entrepreneurship Day and various meetings. She is also a member of AEI Council and recently attended a UVA conference. She also represented FSU at N.C. Graduate Education Day in Raleigh.
