WHAT was the Oklahoma Story after the Lousiana Purchase of tomJefferson....?

..The Indian removal act was passed in 1830; allowed presidentJackson to make treaties with

various tribes east of the Mississippi river, for their land in exchange for new land in the west.

Those who wished to stay behind were required to assimilate and become citizens in their state.

..Tribes that agreed to Jackson's terms, removal was peaceful...those who resisted were forced to leave.

The (5)five civilized tribes consisted of the Choctaw, Seminole, Creek, Cherokee, and the Chickasaw,

and were called this because they had assimilated best to the white culture at the time.

Oklahoma was designated as the home for the Five Civilized Tribes;

"at the time the only location where the Indians would not be in the way of white expansion."

Texas was annexed as a state into the United States in 1845, and the Mexican�American War followed

from 1846�1848. The war was concluded by the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, in which the U.S.

received the lands contentiously claimed from Mexico by Texas (including the Oklahoma Panhandle).

...1860, the Indian Territory had a population of 55,000 Indians, 8,400 Africans and 3000 whites.

a USA "judge said".."That is land that can be owned by no man"..(Natives/Africans were not Men - 1880)

until statehood arrived decades later and USA Constitution had been CHANGED......

The Land Run of 1889

.... United States entered into two new treaties with the Creeks and the Seminoles.,

tribes would sell part of their land in Oklahoma to the U.S. to settle other Indians and AfricanAmericans

....This land would be widely called the Unassigned Lands or Oklahoma Country in the 1880s

Indian Territory (the Five Civilized Tribes and other Indian tribes from east of the Mississippi River) and

(lands set aside to relocate Plains Indians and other Midwestern tribes, as well as the recently settled

"Unassigned Lands" and the Neutral Strip) were formally constituted by Congress on May 2, 1890

The Sequoyah Constitutional Convention and statehood attempt

The Sequoyah Constitutional Convention met in Muskogee, on August 21, 1905. General Pleasant Porter,

Principal Chief of the Muscogee Creek Nation, was selected as president of the convention.

The elected delegates decided that the executive officers of the Five Civilized Tribes would also be

William Charles Rogers, Principal Chief of the Cherokees; William H. Murray, appointed by Chickasaw

Governor Douglas H. Johnston to represent the Chickasaws; Chief Green McCurtain of the Choctaws;

Chief John Brown of the Seminoles; and Charles N. Haskell, selected to represent the Creeks

The convention drafted the constitution, established an organizational plan for a government,

outlined proposed county designations in the new state, and elected delegates to go to the

United States Congress to petition for statehood.

... the Sequoyah would have been the first state to have a Native American majority population.

President Theodore Roosevelt and Congress turned down the Indian Territory proposal.!!!!

... the Oklahoma Enabling Act was passed by the U.S. Congress and approved by President Roosevelt.

The act established several specific requirements for the proposed constitution.

Using the constitution from the Sequoyah convention as a basis (and the majority) of the new state

constitution(Natives and African Americans) returned to Washington with the proposal for statehood.

On November 16, 1907,

President Theodore Roosevelt signed the proclamation establishing Oklahoma as the nation's 46th state.

2. When the African Americans - Native Americans WENT to WW1 in Europe

....the African Americans and Native Americans; fought, killed and liberated COLORED'whiteEuropeans'

AND these African/Native Americans ; Lived, fought and thought with AfricanAsian Colonial Europeans;

....they established after WW1 lines of trade, sources of raw material and business opportunites with

AfricanAsian Nations....

....As OIL or mechanized progress - cars, tanks, planes needed this valuable resource....

OKLAHOMA became IMPORTANT Worldwide......

3. This Indian/AfricanAmerica Nation that was LESS than 15 years old in 1920..

..PRODUCED not only GREAT Cities but African/Native Americans of "wallStreet economies"

4. Before the Organized USA Attack on Oklahoma in 1921-African/Native Americans produced a fleet

of International seafaring ships to deliver the raw materials of 1910 Mechanization, anywhere.

For Deacon Ron Gray - Thank you. I happened to run across this video by chance; watched it, and knew I needed to share because of the time frame in which I found it as this relates to Tulsa race massacre. It was a lucky find, but an educational one. This site was already a gold mine of knowledge just waiting for people like me to find and tap into it. I've been very busy with personal issues lately, and although I've done a couple of blogs, I realize I need to stop here very, very soon and read more of the other blogs... which leads me to my response to Brother Robert Powell.

For Brother Robert Powell - I don't know if you are or ever were a college professor or not, but if not, then you SHOULD be one. You unleashed a wealth of information as a comment that is worthy of a blog post all its own or an actual article. You set the stage for a backstory as to how Black Wall Street came to be while walking us through a series of historical facts that I straight up never knew. That's awesome, and I totally respect the knowledge, research, and chronological sequencing work you put into it. I am not a college grad, but I honestly believe I would have really been inspired in your class... and that's the almighty truth. Thank you!
