Dear Gardeners
Summer Issue 1
I have not had one watermelon all Summer 2024
August 2024

Dear Gardeners:

Good old fashioned summertime sweet!
August one of the hottest months of the summer.
So much fun for doing things outside and having a
enjoy time with family and friends in taking vacations.
But the kids are going back to school and you’re
either at home or at work.

Hey I’m home. Retirement is a holiday all the rest of
days. At least I have holidays in life granted for another month.
Minutes and hours are more important to celebrate.
I have a very lovely summer porch to sit and enjoy a beautiful day.

I have missed you so much and I usually only write once a year
Yet, it is always special when I write. I hope you have something wonderful
growing in your gardens. I don’t grow vegetables or fruits but believe me
I am seriously considering doing watermelons next summer. I mean I
have NOT had a watermelon all summer! I don’t know why? I passed by every
watermelon market and in grocery store I walk on by.
I don’t think I am that serious about growing them, it was a great craving I had.

My dad used to grow them up on a slanted slope out in patch. I have a slanted mindset
only 😂. Huge and beautifully ripe.
Picking a good watermelon does have a quick method.
Choose a good shade and shape
The biggest is not always the most best tasting.
Choose one that gives you a hollow sound when you peck it.
Look at rings and make sure you check for bruises and slight cracks.

Those are the tips that work best for me.
Maybe you have some other ideas of how you choose. I would not mind if you shared of course my love. Anyway, I think my craving is growing more seeds.
Much more, I just want to taste the watermelon sugar !
I miss the Fruit King Guy! He moved to Texas. Now he does those great posts on social media.
He used to bring me samples. No wonder I miss him.

Well, I guess I have grew a long vine letter. I must end this one year writing.
So, tell me how does your gardens grow?
I really would like to know.
Mine grows with lots of love ♥️
