The Physics Department at Carnegie Mellon University is embarking on an ambitious long-term plan that aims to enhance our areas of research strength and to seize new opportunities. The initial set of 3 hires will be in the areas of:
-- Experimental High Energy Physics, focusing on the CMS upgrade and exploring connections to machine learning

Appointments at the Assistant Professor level are expected with a start date of September 1, 2018, although for exceptionally qualified candidates an appointment at a higher rank could be considered.
