As PRRC Occupational Therapy Program Manager, the incumbent has broad coordination and management of considerable scope, size, and complexity, that significantly impacts the health care provided to Veterans. The following professional management and administrative duties include but are not limited to:
1) The PRRC Program Manager Occupational Therapy Program Coordinator is responsible for development of the PRRC wellness programming which is comprised of psychoeducational interventions that teach skills necessary to acquire an active and healthy lifestyle.
2) Manages all staff assigned to the PRRC program regardless of the staffs' discipline.
3) Responsible for all Joint Commission, VACO, CARF and other continuous readiness and programmatic requirements for the program.
4) Performs the administrative and personnel management function relative to staff supervised. Establishes guidelines and performance expectations for staff, clearly communicated through the formal employee performance management system. The incumbent observes workers performance; demonstrates and conducts work performance critiques. The incumbent resolves informal complaints and grievances.
5) Develops, revises and updates individual staff development plans. The incumbent resolves informal complaints and grievances.
6) Develops work improvement plans, recommending personnel actions as necessary. The incumbent provides advice and counsel to staff related to work and administrative matters. The incumbent effects disciplinary measures as appropriate to the authority delegated to this position.
7) Evaluates and enhances the quality of services provided to patients. The incumbent develops and implements information systems to track service activities, all SAIL measures associated with the PRRC and secondary SAIL measures associated with Mental Health Service. The incumbent develops, implements, and evaluates clinical guidelines and protocols to establish appropriate utilization of services.
8) Employs high level of skills to accomplish the work of the programs. The incumbent exercises supervisor authorities and responsibilities involving work assignment and review, as well as the administrative and personnel management functions relative to the staff supervised. The incumbent is responsible for coordinating interdisciplinary staffing, work assignments, and fund control points.
9) Reviews and approves or disapproves leave requests. The incumbent assures that subordinates are trained and fully comply with the provisions of the safety regulations.
10) Makes certain all encounters and consults generated by PRRC staff and assigned to the program are closed within the guidelines of the medical center.
11) Reviews and assures the documentation of the assigned staff reflects the services provided and meets VA North Texas Health Care System, Mental Health Division Line, JACHO, CARF and other regulatory documentation standards and policies.
12) Guides and oversees staff members of different disciplines within assigned area, determines staffing requirements and assign, in conjunction with members of treatment teams, staff areas of responsibility where their special individual skills are best utilized.

VA North Texas Health Care System (VANTHCS) is the second busiest VA system in the nation and we are growing!
