Job Description

The Director, VBS North America Commercialization Product Lead will develop market strategies, operating models, collateral and content to accelerate regional growth for Visa Business Solutions in the US and Canada for business-to-business products and solutions targeting small, medium and large business.  Working in close collaboration with product owners, sales & marketing teams, this role is responsible for commercializing and bringing specific solutions to market by packaging complex products and solutions into compelling and easily consumed content which includes use cases, optimization strategies, solution sets. The individual in this role will also be responsible for both internal/external communications in partnership with our product, sales and client services teams leading to successful sales, usage, brand awareness and revenue growth.

Extensive experience in product management and/or delivery is critical as is a comfort with developing frameworks, go to market plans and programs and owning and executing on the vision. The individual is a self-starter and can work cross-functionally.  Experience in today’s complex, global payments ecosystem is a foundational aspect of the role.  

This role requires a breadth of skills including a mix of product, communications, technical acumen, commercial payments expertise and the ability to chart a course amid ambiguity and uncertainty. The individual in this role will be skilled at planning and execution of go-to-market campaigns and evergreen product initiatives that help drive the retention, acquisition and engagement of clients with our products and solutions. We are seeking a leader who has been directly involved in scaling a product or business from inception (from vision to launch to optimization).

This is a new Individual contributor role with the opportunity to potentially develop into a people leader role – a comfort level and flexibility as both an Individual contributor as well as a people leader is important.

You will scale our business by contributing to product positioning, messaging, naming, and roll out of new enhancements or features of our solutions through great storytelling and by working in conjunction with various Visa teams, clients, partners. For instance:

  • Working in conjunction with Product Management and Client Sales teams, identify and showcase key competitive, industry and customer trends, highlight business problems to be solved, package market/client needs, distill insights.

  • Help support the creation of strategies that ensure VBS is a differentiated and a valued partner for Small to medium and large businesses, Issuers, Acquirers and Fintechs.  Produce and/or act as a key stakeholder in developing inventory of use case playbooks (i.e. actionable plays), including optimized messaging/positioning, sales materials and tool kits, (i.e. best practices, and solution guides)  

  • Partner with our internal creative and content teams, or external marketing agencies, to develop assets targeted at marketing and communications.

  • Develop plans to increase awareness, adoption and preference for VBS across target segment by quickly developing a deep understanding of VBS Global Products and adapt or re-package global messaging themes, templates, into market specific content.  Develop operational processes and tools to Index, track & refresh inventory of product rules and GTM collateral.

  • Work closely with product owners, marketing, communications and operations teams to develop content and cadence of internal/external regional product communications including but not limited to: release updates, Visa bulletins, Global Roadmap, Regional optimization materials, client facing product materials.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD


Preferred Qualifications

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
  • Extensive experience successfully developing, building, launching and commercializing technology financial and/or payment products. Your experience working in an Agile organization is a plus
  • Functional experience or engagement with Product Management, Operations or Strategy
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment navigating ambiguity successfully, most likely in product management, in a matrixed organization
  • Strong collaborator who fosters team development and motivation
  • Excellent communication skills – you are able to articulate in a concise manner, especially in written form, and can translate complex ideas into clear-cut messages
  • Strong project and stakeholder management skills – you are highly skilled at managing all details of complex campaign launches while coordinating with stakeholders to meet deadlines

COLORADO APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position in Colorado is 124,200 USD to 161,500 USD. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for annual bonus and equity.
