Masonry
Incumbent must have a comprehensive knowledge of the techniques and procedures of brick, block and stone work. In addition to laying whole brick and block, they must have the skill necessary to cut and shape brick and stone work to complete corners. They must have the knowledge necessary to construct window sills, lintels, and arches capable of supporting the walls above the openings. In sealing windows and doors, they must insure that courses are laid evenly and that completed work blends with existing work. Incumbent will work as a journeyman level for laying a variety of brick, block, and stone in construction or repair; skill to accurately line up courses that are horizontally and vertically straight; ability to spread mortar to obtain even distribution and thickness between courses; skill to spread mortar, set brick and block, and finish mortar joints so that the repaired portion matches the undamaged portion of the structure. Knowledge and skill of repairing and maintaining block and brick work in fire and smoke barrier walls and partitions. Must have the skill and knowledge to utilize proper tools for the completion of jobs, including brick napping hammer, brick or skill saw in cutting and shaping brick and masonry, axe, hammers and picks.
Carpentry
Incumbent must poses a comprehensive knowledge of wood and wood substitute materials and construction techniques; skill in the construction techniques and operation of general and precision carpentry and woodworking equipment to produce the requested finished product. Ability to interpret complex instructions, sketches, blueprints, and building codes. Measures, cuts, constructs, installs, repairs and modifies building components such as rafters, framed walls, staircases, windows, trim work, and furniture/cabinets.
Painter
The Incumbent performs duties such as determining the methods, techniques, devices, and materials that are best suited to the surface finish required, for example, glossy finish, grained effect, or a finish that must meet specified thicknesses and levels. They prepare surfaces by methods such as smoothing with pumice and rottenstone, filling, shaping, and leveling with metal and synthetic resins, and mixing and applying pre-coating agents, for example, pickling and alkali compounds.
They prepare coating materials by tinting, toning, matching, blending, and mixing in various additives. The incumbent applies coating materials with any of the accepted trade devices including those designed to give special effects, for example, brushes, rollers, spray guns, and graining devices. They see that the coating finish meets match, texture, decorative, thickness, and level requirements.
General: Incumbent is also responsible for performing other duties as assigned on a temporary and non-reoccurring basis, as seen fit by facilities management.

Physical Requirements: The work requires a considerable amount of standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in tiring and/or uncomfortable positions. The incumbent may work from ladders and scaffolding. When operating equipment, the worker may be under a great deal of strain from constant reaching, bending, turning, and moving of hands, arms, feet, legs, and by the vibration and jerking of the equipment. The incumbent carries, lifts, and handles parts and equipment weighing up to 90 pounds.
The work is performed inside and outside with exposure to all kinds of weather. The work area may be dirty, wet, dusty, and greasy, With inadequate lighting, heat, or ventilation. Incumbent is subject to cuts, abrasions, irritation of eyes, skin and respiratory tract, and the hazards of operating power tools and equipment. Discomfort is encountered when wearing protective clothing, gloves, or eye goggles. May work in confined areas such as crawl spaces and attic's.
