The Student Affairs Director of Business Affairs acts on behalf of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs (VCSA) as his designee and represents the VCSA in regards to all fiscal and personnel matters. Various duties can include management of the salaries component of the Student Affairs budget system, overseeing and coordination all salary increases, assisting Human Resources in contract negotiations, preparing RAMP capital budget, fee review process, and insuring that all accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis.
The Director of Business Affairs participates in goal setting initiatives within Student Affairs and conducts long range budget forecasting used to predict the feasibility of new programs along with providing leadership and oversight to the Morris University Center Business Office. He or she will act as the fiscal officer authority and propriety approval for general revenue funds, local activity funds, funded debt funds and foundation funds in the VCSA's functional area.
Additionally, the Director is responsible for other quality improvement initiatives devoted to enhance the effectiveness, efficiency, retention, and customer/student service including auxiliary vendor contracts and directing initiatives related to planning new construction and major renovations.

Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field.
-A minimum of five years of progressive experience and responsibility with a thorough understanding of business and financial operations within higher education (budgeting and accounting experience) is necessary.
-Knowledge of development and analysis of balance sheets, income statements, cash handling procedures and cash security systems.
-Operating knowledge of auxiliary operations, state and federal guidelines relative to not-for-profit educational activity, state sales tax and IRS requirements.
-Strong leadership skills and ability to guide diverse personalities.
-The ability to conceptualize, organize, analyze, and execute work independently; while managing other activities concurrently, both short and long term.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
-Master's degree in a business related discipline.
-Certified Auxiliary Services Profession (CASP).
