Residence Life Coordinator of Operations|
The Housing and Residence Life Office invites applications for the position of Coordinator of Operations. This is a professional staff member who will assist the Director in coordinating the overall operations of the department including but not limited to: the student conduct process, undergraduate housing, maintenance work order system, Star Rez Housing Management system and supervision of approximately a dozen student employees. This staff member is asked to share their innovative and energetic personality to advance our program through the development and attainment of housing and residence life goals aimed at executing a comprehensive housing operation focused on residential facilities and technological growth. Additional benefits to this position include the possibility of on-campus housing, teaching experience and growth in supervision responsibility.
The Coordinator will:
-Manage all central office operations (e.g. hall opening/closing, room condition reports, housing placement, room reservations, occupancy reports, damage billing process, exception process for academic break periods/holidays, room change and room consolidation processes, room reservation/reassignment processes.).
-Coordinate student conduct proceedings. Handle confidential materials and maintain files related to student conduct matters.
-Facilitate student conduct pre-hearing meetings with residential students.
-Track data related to the Minger and Clery Acts.
-Supervise, interview and hire roughly a dozen student staff members who provide administrative support to the Department of Housing and Residence Life, i.e. answering phones, administrative support, and distribution of mail.
-Prepare weekly/monthly/yearly reports related to operations including but not limited to: retention, occupancy, charges, and pending application reports.
-Utilize housing software to receive applications, make assignments, assess fees for billing, manage data, update materials and generate reports.
-Facilitate assessment of housing operations and related services, which directly affects the quality of students' residential experience and update and maintain the departmental website and manage Housing and Residence Life publications.
-Manage off-campus housing website and facilitate the off-campus housing fair in the spring.
-Create and maintain a positive working relationship with the Business Office, Facilities, Student Affairs, Information Technology and all other offices on campus.
-Provide administrative support for the office.
-Work autonomously and contribute to the overall Housing & Residence Life program.
-On occasion may be required to lift and transport items weighing up to 20 lbs.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; and two to four years related experience and/or training.
Ideal candidate will have advanced computer skills (i.e. experience with management systems and/or website development), well developed written and verbal interpersonal communication skills, and is comfortable in a fast paced office environment.
