Assistant Soccer Coach
The University of Iowa Athletics Department seeks applications for an Assistant Soccer Coach. This is a full-time, 12-month position with salary commensurate with experience and includes full University benefits. The University of Iowa is a NCAA Division I Power Five institution and a member of the Big Ten Conference. The Department of Athletics manages 24 varsity sports programs and operates under a “Win. Graduate. Do It Right.” philosophy.
The successful candidate will assist the Head Coach in the management and coaching of an NCAA Division I women’s soccer program, including assisting with recruiting (domestic and international) as permitted by NCAA rules, teaching and coaching, assisting with operations management (e.g., program development, schedule, budget, equipment, camps, marketing and public relations), planning team practices, conducting individual workouts, and other duties as assigned. This position requires frequent travel, work in the evenings, on weekends and holidays, a valid U.S. driving license and the ability to meet and maintain The University of Iowa Fleet Safety Program driving standards.

Qualifications & Requirements Required qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) required
•Minimum 3 years of successful soccer coaching experience at the NCAA Division I level
•Extensive experience effectively developing and training field players at the collegiate or professional level
•Excellent oral and written communication skills, as demonstrated through public speaking, clinician experience, and/or use of effective and creative training/coaching techniques.
•Demonstrated experience working effectively in a diverse environment
•A valid U.S. driving license and the ability to meet and maintain The University of Iowa Fleet Safety Program driving standards
Desired qualifications:
•Playing experience at the NCAA Division I level in the sport of soccer
•Demonstrated experience in domestic talent assessment and proven ability to successfully recruit elite level student-athletes.
•Experience developing leadership and/or mentorship programs for student-athletes
•Demonstrated working proficiency and ability to:
oUtilize a video analysis system like Sports Code (please specify)
oPlan and administer a recruiting calendar
oDevelop and manage camp curriculum and administration; assist with coaching and
instruction at camps and clinics
