Our Assistant Director of Residence Life ¨C Residential Colleges will provide leadership, coordination and oversight for the residential colleges housing both undergraduate and graduate students. The Assistant Director will directly and indirectly train, supervise, and evaluate job performance of the area student life staff while championing the Student Affairs Aspirations for Student Learning through the residential curriculum model in all interactions, decisions, and innovations. Virginia Tech boasts 11 brilliant living-learning communities including the Corps of Cadets and three residential colleges - Honors Residential Commons, Residential College at West Ambler Johnston and our newest college opening this fall, Leadership and Social Change Residential College. Qualifications & Requirements
Master¡¯s degree in college student affairs or related field; multiple years of experience related to college student affairs; demonstrated ability in staff supervision and administrative work; experience planning and coordinating residence life learning experiences; demonstrated ability to work with a diverse student body and foster sensitivity to diversity issues in the university community; excellent oral and written communication skills.
Experience in the areas of community development; staff selection processes; budget development and management; strategic planning; curriculum development plans and initiatives. Prior work experience in a live-in housing role.
