29732 - Training & Development Specialist 2
The Learning & Development Specialist uses best practices from the learning and development field to create and deliver learner centered, performance based training. In this role, the Learning & Development Specialist engages with learners and others in a way that embraces person centered approaches, is interactive and utilizes adult learning principles. The Learning & Development Specialist demonstrates a thorough understanding of adult learning principles and effectively incorporates them into the training conducted.

Primary Responsibilities Include:
• Designing, delivering and/or evaluating effective learning and development programs and materials as necessary to meet the needs of the learners and utilize best practices for adult learners
• Providing staff information on training activities and advising on employee development techniques
• Providing assistance to work groups and committees to develop training materials, providing expertise, and implementing training
Qualifications & Requirements
Must meet one of the following qualifications listed below:

• 1 year of professional experience or three years advanced technical or paraprofessional experience in instructional design or delivering training to adult learners that demonstrates the following:
o Designing, developing and coordinating training programs and learning and development activities
o Training and experience in the use of needs assessment, training methods, adult learning, training evaluation and measurement
o Experience with learning management or other similar tracking and reporting software
Or
• Bachelor’s degree in Learning Management, Instructional Design, or Adult Education and 2 years of advanced technical or paraprofessional experience in instructional design or delivering training to adult learners that demonstrates the following:
o Designing, developing and coordinating training programs and learning and development activities
o Training and experience in the use of needs assessment, training methods, adult learning, training evaluation and measurement
o Experience with learning management or other similar tracking and reporting software
Or
• Master’s degree in Learning Management, Instructional Design, or Adult Education
