Job Description
Executive Dean
Palm Beach State College is seeking to hire an Executive Dean for the Belle Glade, FL campus. The Executive Dean will be responsible for providing leadership, planning, development, and administration of the Center. Provides executive level direction in fulfilling the mission and vision of the College as it relates to the center, and aligns the College’s strategic priorities to the center. Manages the center budget. Develops, recommends, and implements student services, campus policies, procedures, and strategic goals. Acts as a liaison to the surrounding community, business groups, and schools as a recognized leader to promote campus programs and provide further educational momentum to the center and a diverse student body.

This position is opened until filled with an initial review date of February 8, 2019.

Duties and Responsibilities:

-Provide leadership in fulfilling the mission of the center. May include overall coordination of center academic, business and/or student service activities.
-Work collaboratively with college administration to ensure effective attainment of college and center goals, objectives, and development initiatives.
-Provide direction in the design, development and administration of center programs and operations to achieve established center mission, goals and objectives.
-Maintain a climate in support of multicultural diversity that promotes academic achievement and professional/personal development for administration, faculty, staff and students.
-Plan, and implement special events on a wide range of topics.
-Plan and implement fund raising opportunities, utilizing private and public assets.
-Act as a college liaison for programs and/or services with outside agencies or community leaders. Communicate program information internally and externally.
-Develop short-term and long-term goals, objectives, priorities, and recommendations.
-Respond to complex inquiries from all levels of employees or external sources regarding a variety of questions, such as clarification of center policy and procedures.
-Direct and oversee comprehensive budget for center.
-Attend extracurricular/intramural and/or other cultural, social and community events as required.
-Travel to meetings, between college locations, and for other purposes.
-Attend community meetings of, present to, and/or assist professional associations, business groups, and civic clubs. Promotes college programs.
-Participate in various meetings and committees.
-Monitor various projects to insure maximum effectiveness and compliance.
-Liaison among departments, functions or groups, within the college. Communicate information to appropriate personnel.
-Develop and train staff. Perform needs analysis, arrange, coordinate, deliver, evaluate, and/or monitor staff development.
-Monitor and evaluate the performance of your employees.
-Plan, direct, and control the work of people who do not report directly to you, but who provide support to the goals and objectives of your organization.
-Guide, lead, review, verify, observe, and manage the work of people reporting directly to you.
-Communicate to college personnel and others through written and online methods administrative and informational matters, as necessary.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education and Experience:

Master’s degree.

Minimum of six years related experience, and experience in supervision, including experience in education administration.


Doctorate’s degree.

Experience in higher education administration.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

Federal, state and local education laws and guidelines.

Management principles, practices and procedures.

Microsoft Office Professional or similar applications.

Skill in:

Executive leadership.

Advanced communication skills in presenting data.

Supervising others, including team building.

Excellent verbal and written communication.

Proofread and check documents for accuracy.

Work a fluctuating work schedule.
