Job Description
Development Coordinator
The Climate Museum provides a home for vibrant and robust engagement with the climate crisis, reaching many who might otherwise be left out of the conversation. The majority of people in the United States are worried about climate change but rarely discuss it. Our vision is to invite the broad public into a new climate citizenship, extending the transformative work being done by the youth and general climate movements.

For the past year and a half, the Museum has presented programming across the arts and sciences to support cultural change and build civic action in response to the climate crisis. More information can be found on our website.

This position represents an opportunity to play a generative role in a dynamic, young organization early in the process of scaling and developing a year-round location. The position would be based in our New York City office with occasional visits to our current exhibition hub on Governors Island.

We aim to fill this spot as soon as possible. The final deadline is August 19. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis starting immediately.

Responsibilities:

-Contribute to development strategy
-Work directly with organizational leadership to ensure that all of the Museumís ambassadors have what they need to be successful in their efforts to increase financial resources
-Drive ongoing research on individual donors, foundations, corporations, and philanthropic trends
-Assist in donor communications and coordinate development outreach
-Write grants and funder reports, and support external writers by distilling program materials and providing editorial feedback
-Improve and maintain the Museumís funder database as we transition to a robust new CRM
-Process donations and follow-up with timely acknowledgement letters
-Organize materials for fundraising events, meetings, and trips and assist in event coordination and production
-Collaborate with program and communications teams to create compelling content for the web, social media, and marketing materials reaching various donor groups, including appeals, annual reports, and newsletters
-Provide administrative support for all fundraising efforts
-Supervise at least one development intern

To apply, submit a resume and cover letter detailing why you are a strong candidate and why this would be a good fit for you as well as us. Please submit these materials to our submittable page here: https://theclimatemuseum.submittable.com/submit

The Climate Museum highly values diversity and views the climate crisis as, among other things, a social justice crisis. People of color, people with disabilities, and people who identify as members of the LGBTQIA+ community are particularly encouraged to apply.
