At Wells Fargo, we want to satisfy our customers' financial needs and help them succeed financially. We're looking for talented people who will put our customers at the center of everything we do. Join our diverse and inclusive team where you'll feel valued and inspired to contribute your unique skills and experience.

Help us build a better Wells Fargo. It all begins with outstanding talent. It all begins with you.

Enterprise Finance drives financial management for the company and maintains and enhances risk and financial controls. Key functions within Enterprise Finance include finance and accounting; Treasury; corporate development, mergers, and acquisitions; Data Management and Insights, the Customer Remediation Center of Excellence, Enterprise Shared Services, Business Process Management, and Corporate Strategy. Enterprise Finance informs shareholders, regulators, taxing authorities, team members, and leaders of the company's financial performance through earnings releases, investor meetings and conferences, and meetings with regulators and credit rating agencies, following appropriate reporting guidelines. They also maintain and enhance risk and financial controls and lead many of the company's shared services functions including corporate properties, security, and global services.

The Wells Fargo Investment Portfolio ('IP') comprises public and private investments for the Credit Investment Portfolio ('CIP') and public investments for the Macro Investment Portfolio ('MIP'). IP manages the Company's AFS and HTM securities portfolio as part of the Enterprise Finance group.

The Macro Investment Portfolio (MIP) is responsible for maintaining a portfolio of fixed income investments to achieve liquidity, interest rate risk management, and capital management objectives on behalf of Corporate ALCO.  MIP invests in high quality, highly liquid and readily marketable securities that are primarily U.S. Treasury and government agency securities.  With a view towards longer term investing, MIP's asset appetite is discretionary at the direction of ALCO to deploy a portion of the Company's excess deposits in a safe and sound manner.

The Credit Investment Portfolio (CIP) is responsible for the evaluation of credit-driven investment opportunities across a broad spectrum of corporate bonds, loans, municipal bonds, CLOs and other asset backed securities. With a view towards long term holds, CIP focuses on relative risk/reward by purchasing (and selling) at prices that enhance shareholder value and improve Wells Fargo's risk adjusted return on capital. CIP applies the same depth of credit due diligence that the lending divisions have historically applied to loan products. Accordingly, each investment is underwritten from the bottom up with thorough credit, structural, and legal analysis then monitored continuously until final repayment of principal.

The IP Portfolio Strategy & Analytics team binds a collection of groups whose core functions are associated with investment analysis or reporting on WFC's Investment Portfolios (AFS and HTM). The team focuses on analytics, process integration, and reporting on key areas pertinent to the Investment Portfolio.  We are seeking an experienced Portfolio Analytics Consultant 3 to join the Strategic Initiatives team with responsibility for managing IP's liquidity-centric analytics, and developing value-added strategies to optimize the portfolio's contributions to enterprise liquidity goals.  A successful candidate will have a strong understanding of securities valuation, ability to actively engage in the development of technology solutions, ability to partner seamlessly with a variety of internal stakeholders, and strong understanding of applicable, complex liquidity regulations.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Partnering with the Portfolio Planning teams to generate scenario-specific forecasts of portfolio contributions to liquidity stress tests and recovery and resolution plans.
  • Managing complex methodologies; generating accurate, timely, and well-governed deliverables; and communicating results effectively to varied audiences.
  • Driving the advancement of technology solutions to enhance the delivery of liquidity-related portfolio analyses and meet a complex set of use cases.
  • Completing required governance activities to support the use of deliverables, including facilitating reviews, engaging with risk management groups, and supporting audit activities as applicable.
  • Coordinating across the portfolio and with key stakeholders to optimize IP's contribution to liquidity other enterprise objectives.
  • Conducting analyses and impact studies to support the management, growth, optimization, or other efforts of the portfolio, which may span a variety of topics including market trends, regulatory developments, and key events.

A successful candidate would be a highly-motivated self-starter with excellent communication skills, demonstrated ability to synthesize complex data and methodologies, sound critical and strategic thinking, ability to build consensus and execute, and desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.  The candidate should have an expertise in fixed income securities valuations, working knowledge of SQL, and strong interest in macro and credit markets, as well as portfolio strategy.  In addition, an ideal candidate would have a thorough understanding of applicable liquidity regulations relevant to a Global Systemically Important Bank (GSIB).

Team members support our focus on building strong customer relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our customers and company. They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit's risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.
