Working with William Hill, you will be at the heart of the technological revolution with one of the world’s most trusted betting and gaming companies. William Hill deals with projects ranging from desktop or mobile casinos and betting sites, to name a few. We process 500 online Sportsbook bets per second each Saturday, that’s the same as the number of orders processed by Amazon UK, on its busiest day of the year. We deal with more than 20 million users daily; impressed? You can be sure there are many more challenges waiting for you. 


Working in conjunction with the CTO and CPO you’ll be a key contributor in driving William Hill’s expansion. As a manager of managers, you’ll be leading functional and technical teams in planning, organizing and implementing our product and business expansion efforts.

What You Will Do:

Ensure that the technology organization is a customer-centric team, focused on business needs and growth objectives
Demonstrate the progress of the team’s efforts; pinpoint areas for improvement, and set plan of action to make us work better
Develop performance metrics and use them to drive continuous improvement
Establishes policies, best practices, systems, technology, development standards, and methodologies to ensure the bar is met
Manage escalation of risks, issues, and dependencies by making decisions and ensuring mitigating actions are successfully executed
Oversee hiring decisions, performance appraisals, and employee development
Review operational performance and set performance goals
Maintain an overview of our state-of-the-art technology stack by monitoring trends within the industry, and measuring impact or potential impact on business operations and goals
Help Advance the practice of self organization here
Coordinate, coach, and inspire a globally distributed set of teams
Co-create and execute on a multi-year technology roadmap, strategy, budget, and resource plan for technology
Work with internal product and other stakeholders to define customer-facing platform development specifications and incorporate into a master development road map
Enhance the use of existing technologies and drive scalability and stability
Work with Product Owners to manage KPIs and OKRs at the group and team levels
Work closely with multi-continental William Hill colleagues; travel if necessary
What You Will Need: 

Strong, hands-on team leader who will attract, retain, and mentor a high performing collaborative organization
Background in strong financial governance, business change management, technical dependency management, resource planning, stakeholder management, and project execution
Detailed knowledge of technology delivery processes and approaches in use across the market i.e. Agile and Scaled Agile
A customer-focused leader capable of recognizing internal and external customers. Able to establish effective relationships by pinpointing customer needs including; communication, networking, and influencing skills necessary to establish working relationships within the company
Fluent in partnering with senior leadership and functional business partners to understand strategic direction and capabilities critical for success
Lead implementation of the appropriate governance, prioritization and effective sponsorship of initiatives
Self- educating regarding team management and building organizations
Experienced mentor of teams handling conflict resolution, team building, and employee engagement by identifying key milestones to celebrate internally
Generate excitement and awareness around important initiatives and lead the celebration for wins
Demonstrate management style that encourages teamwork, participation, communication, and service orientation
You will need to successfully complete a background and drug screen


Essential Functions/Exposures:

Must be able to sit for extended periods of time                                          
Must be able to type and talk on the phone for extended periods of time
