The Coordinator of the Rider University Student Employment Program (RUSEP) with work with a diverse student population to manage and facilitate many aspects of the program. This position sits within Career Development and Success reporting to the Executive Director
Oversee and, manage the operations of the Rider Student Employment Program (RUSEP) which includes the undergraduate, graduate and federal work-study programs;
Partner closely with the Offices of Enrollment Management, Financial Planning and Budget, and faculty to create and implement initiatives;
Maintain relationships with community-based programs and agencies in the region to support the development of off-campus federal work study opportunities;
Promote positions, activities, programs and information that aid in student recruitment and retention for the RUSEP;
Plan, produce and manage the annual fall RUSEP Job Fair and spring RUSEP celebration;
Serve as the primary information source about the RUSEP for current and prospective students, their family, faculty and staff;
Develop, update, recommend, and implement hiring and employment policies, procedures, processes and guidelines related to the RUSEP;
Develop resources to support student worker training and performance management/reviews, and present/conduct orientation sessions and trainings for supervisors and students;
Mediate problems arising between student employees and their supervisors;
Collect and analyze metrics and data;
Manage the database of student employment postings and job descriptions.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelors Degree required
Demonstrated experience working with a diverse student population in career services or an equivalent/related area;
Strong interpersonal skills, experience cultivating relationships and communicating effectively, oral and written, with a broad range of constituencies;
Demonstrated experience and/or demonstrated ability assuming programmatic responsibilities;
Effective communication skills
Position Preferred Qualifications/Experience
Experience working in higher education strongly preferred
Employment knowledge including: hiring process (writing and posting positions), employment policies, performance reviews, training, placement and experience assessing varied employment situations and identifying appropriate solutions;
Ability to analyze data and utilize technical skills (i.e., Excel, web-based platforms);
Ability to work independently, plan work assignments, set priorities and meet deadlines.
