Responsible for the mortgage closing/funding process after assignment which includes: reviewing assigned pipeline The Research/Remediation Analyst 1 will be a member of the Collateral Assistance Team. The members of the team will be taking phone calls from Wells Fargo Home Mortgage Consultants (HMCs) who are looking for help with collateral issues.
â¢Team member will triage callers needs and set them on the right path for resolution. Required understanding of which types of issues are routed directly for correction and what needs to be routed to a review appraiser for further review and reconsideration. Functions evaluated may cover one or more of the following areas: underwriting, regulatory compliance, fraud, fair lending, and servicing
â¢Package documentation sent by Home Mortgage Consultants (HMCs) for further processing and follow up with HMCs when resolution is reached.
â¢Respond to, research and resolve escalated inquiries and complaints requiring special handling and that may have been forwarded by management committee members, agencies, and/or senior business leaders. This may include a review of inprocess, closed or cancelled single loan/credit exceptions, applications, claims, files and/or online transactions to determine if processes and documentation are in compliance with internal company requirements, contractual terms/conditions, insurer guidelines, investor requirements and/or government regulations
â¢Perform intake to determine appropriate course of action, conducting investigative steps to fully identify the issues, researching product information, terms, conditions and contracts, creating correspondence as needed, processing complex and/or corrective transactions on-line (including monetary and non-monetary actions)
â¢Communicate with others (including customers, merchants, clients, executives, agencies, regulators, bankers) to ensure resolution/negotiation of sensitive and/or time-critical matters
â¢Recommend standards, policies, and/or procedures to correct deficiencies
â¢Ensure identified risks and/or problems are clearly documented
â¢Refer recommendations exceeding authority levels and/or items unable to meet resolution to management for review
â¢Other duties may include: serve as an intermediary to resolve disputed matters; negotiate and enact settlements, project work to identify process improvements, generate reports and summarize results
- 4+ years of customer contact experience in a financial services environment; or 3+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: financial services operations, underwriting, or quality assurance
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
- Ability to navigate multiple computer systems, applications, and utilize search tools to find information
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Mortgage operations experience
- Residential appraisal experience
Other Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge and understanding of collateral lending
- This position requires compliance with all mortgage regulatory requirements and Wells Fargo's compliance policies related to these requirements including acceptable background check investigation results. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and required reporting of certain incidents.
