Associate Graphic Designer|
PRB is seeking a Associate Graphic Designer to join our award-winning Communications Department and contribute to creating digital and print products that communicate PRBís mission-driven content in visually compelling ways. PRBís content covers a range of social policy issues in the United States and globally, frequently drawing from data-rich sources. The Associate Graphic Designer will report to the Creative Director and work within the communications department. The Associate Graphic Designer will strive to make our visual products innovative and effective. PRB produces a high volume of products in multiple formats (publications, fact sheets, infographics, visualizations, social media images, presentations, videos), providing ample opportunities for a creative and proactive designer to apply his or her skills in a variety of ways.
The Associate Graphic Designer has the primary responsibility for delivering final design assets that comprise a communications product.
Designs visual content for the PRB website, social media, email campaigns, and other dissemination outlets to promote products, generate media interest, and contribute to business development efforts.
Develops robust presentations for a variety of needs including business development, training, staff presentations, etc.
Designs print publications such as briefs, bulletins, and data sheets, and assists in the creation of flexible templates for each content type.
Transforms quantitative data and qualitative research into compelling visuals.
Assists in the creation of print and digital branding materials.
Assists the Communications team in building and maintaining a diverse image library with photos, illustrations, icons, etc.
Keeps up to date with the latest design trends and software.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelorís degree in graphic design or related field and at least 2 years of design experience.
A diverse portfolio across print and digital media that shows solid design skills
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Experience with XD and/or Sketch a plus.
Proficiency in PowerPoint. Experience with Prezi a plus.
Understanding of visual presentation principles for social media channels including Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Solid understanding of design principles as they relate to typography, layout, and color.
Ability to follow branding guidelines at the organization, program, and project levels.
Knowledge of user experience best practices a plus.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain organized design files, version control, and folder structures.
Demonstrated time management and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail, especially when working with numbers.
Strong interpersonal and people-oriented skills.
Ability to deftly manage feedback from multiple stakeholders along the production process.
Interest in social/demographic policy issues also a plus.
