Student Success and Wellbeing Administrator

The MIT Office of Engineering Outreach Programs (OEOP), to collaborate on helping high-achieving 7-12th grade students from diverse backgrounds thrive (personally, socially, and academically) and transition through rigorous STEM-focused programs and into college.
Will create, implement, and advise on initiatives/protocols addressing student support needs/concerns; meet with students on personal and academic issues; provide general advice on academic/career planning; provide resources/referrals for services; provide training/guidance to instructional and residential staff on fostering an inclusive and supportive environment; and contribute to program-wide communications bringing awareness to and improving executive functioning skills, social-emotional learning, mental health and wellbeing, and the academic success of participants and recent alumni. May assess student wellbeing and determine appropriate referrals/resources in crisis situations.
Qualifications & Requirements Required Qualifications:
Advanced degree in social work, counseling, psychology, education, or related field (i.e., MSW, MHC, M.A./M.S., M.Ed., Ph.D., Psy.D.)
Three years’ professional counseling experience (clinical, school/university, out-of-school time settings) supporting young-to-middle adolescents and their families
Preferred Qualifications:
Good judgment and experience managing risk and intense/sensitive situations
Meticulous attention to detail
Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, multitasking, leadership, facilitation, interpersonal, relationship-building, presentation, and oral and written communication skills
Ability to collaborate on teams with diverse backgrounds and skillsets
Flexibility in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
Support for MIT’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, using a strengths-based approach to support students with intersecting marginalized identities
Experience supporting students in an academic and residential environment
Written/oral Spanish language skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel), cloud-based collaboration tools (e.g., Google Drive, SharePoint, Dropbox), social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn), email marketing (e.g., Constant Contact, Mailchimp), and content/experience management systems (e.g., WordPress, SurveyMonkey, Qualtrics)
