The Director of Laboratory Equipment (LE) Supply Chain is part of the Laboratory Products Division (LPD) which unites deep scientific expertise, a collaborative culture and rich resources to deliver the lab equipment and consumables that our customers need to achieve their scientific goals – quickly, optimally and safely. Our smart lab solutions make it faster and easier for our customers to focus on what matters most – delivering answers and innovations that save and improve lives. This role will ideally reside at our site Waltham, MA, Asheville, NC, Marietta, OH or another divisional site. Travel expectation will be between 25-35%. This will include both domestic and international.


The Director, Supply Chain Planning, will improve the planning function across all operating groups, divisions and regions for LE. In this role, you will collaborate with the Directors of Supply Chain Excellence and Supply Chain Transformation to develop improvement plans for product availability, working capital optimization and efficiency improvement through standard work. You will be accountable for annual improvements in the company’s Product availability (LIFR/OTIF), Customer Allegiance Score (CAS) for Order Fulfillment and inventory days of supply (DOS).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the monthly Sales Inventory Operations Planning (SIOP) process.

  • Ensures production schedules enable achieving required product availability goals. Responsible for successful implementation and maintenance of capacity planning processes and initiatives. Influence and collaborate with key partners to address input gaps.

  • Establish mechanisms to achieve critical metrics such as DOS, forecast accuracy, raw material availability, schedule attainment to drive business results, including leading indicators which will serve as early warning signs of problem performance.

  • Partner with IT to identify and standardize around a core set of information system solutions and data analytics platforms to improve supply chain results.

  • Recruit, develop and retain top talent, focusing on close collaboration with Talent Acquisition to ensure strong pipeline to support Supply Chain recruitment needs


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field is required. Master of Business Administration (MBA) or other advanced degree preferred.

  • 10+ years of meaningful experience, with at least 7 years of people management experience in the Consumer Products or Life Science industry preferred.

  • Strong track record of meeting objectives with a sense of urgency, effective working within a matrix environment and a passion of driving continuous improvement

  • CPM/CIPS/APICS or equivalent certification preferred.

  • Knowledge of business systems and information technology for handling complex supply chain activities. Experience with Oracle E1, SAP will be an asset as well as demand planning software.

  • A dynamic, high energy leader with a track record as an effective communicator with various organizations and management levels and uses a collaborative approach to problem solving.

  • Ability to link the critical business issues to the supply chain and operations to improve business results with processes and systems.

  • Clear understanding of the order-to-cash process in manufacturing

  • Strong discernment and problem solving capabilities, with direct, applied experience

  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, proficient in both spoken and written English.
