Sales Representative - Genetic Analysis

Join our Sales & Marketing team with an unmatched depth of capabilities and help our customers solve some of the world’s toughest challenges.Discover Impactful Work:The Genetic Analysis Instrument Sales Representative position is part of the commercial organization supporting the Genetic Analysis portfolio which provides high-value genomic data to assist critical decisions in research and applied markets - Quantitative PCR | Sanger Sequencing |Human Identification | Microarray | AgriGenomics. A day in the Life:- This sales territory covers southern Virginia (Richmond, Blacksburg and Norfolk/VA Beach)., field sales position
- Will possess strong technical acuity in the areas of qPCR and sequencing
- Strong intuition for business required to build successful account and territory plans and translate territory strategy into business results
- Primarily focused on successful capital equipment sales and large reagent deals including funnel management skills and strong hunting, prospecting and closing skills
Keys to Success:- Scientific consulting competence - Demonstrates technical credibility to collaborate with customers on technology solutions.
- Capital sales competence – Demonstrates funnel management skills with strong hunting/prospecting and closing skills.
- Business acuity – Dedication to meticulous territory planning, market knowledge, both accurate and timely forecasting. Develops and leads a business plan to meet or exceed business goals agreed upon by commercial management for the territory.
- Understands scientific project and business needs of the customer to position a GA solution (qPCR and/or sequencing and/or microarray) to win the business. Actively promotes and sells consumables.
- Manages sales process including sales forecasting, pipeline management, and sales tracking through the use of Sales Force system and other designated IT tools.
Education:- Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field; or the equivalent knowledge and experience. A Master’s Degree or PhD degree is preferred.
Experience:- Minimum of 5 years sales experience in Life Science, with capital equipment experience preferred
- Extensive knowledge of qPCR, sequencing, and/or microarray
- Selling experience in federal government accounts is a plus
