The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Lean Value Stream Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

Being the key Menomonie contact for a family of products within the Microreplication Operations Value Stream. This Value Stream serves a variety of 3M Products across the Transportation and Electronics Business Group portfolio.

Being responsible for strong leadership in driving EHS&R alignment, with the support of the plant Safety organization related to the products & its raw materials (TSCA, IH, etc.).

Leading the scaleup of New Product Introductions & Management of Change qualifications that will impact your products. In this lead role you will drive communication, risk evaluation, to execute on product improvements for our customers, utilizing appropriate product change management processes.

Being responsible for Product Quality. This includes maintaining customer alignment and leadership around proactive quality improvements. This includes driving customer compliance and corrective action in alignment with plant and specific product quality management systems with the support of the Plant Quality Team. Through your division and customer connections you will align and translate Voice of Customer into measurable specifications and test methods for product development and manufacturing

Leading product improvement utilizing the LSS methodology towards improvements in unit cost reduction, PPU &, quality improvements - from RM to Customer with support from the process and quality teams. This includes leading supplier management as it relates to the quality of your products.

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international

Qualifications & Requirements
Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

Three (3) years’ experience in a private, public, government or military environment in one or more of the following areas: product engineering, process engineering, project engineering, project management, and/or research laboratory.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

Has held positions in at least 2 manufacturing facilities with minimum three (3) years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.

Demonstrated results leading product specific improvements across multiple processes and teams

Demonstrated results driving projects/initiatives related to product Quality Improvement, Unit Cost Modeling, and Cost Reduction projects.

Technical experience in polymer film extrusion, web handling & converting

Six Sigma Green Belt Certification

Three (3) years of experience utilizing statistical tools in problem solving is preferred
