Manager, Energy Systems|
The department of Central Energy Plant has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Manager, Energy Systems to work at the UHealth Campus. The Manager, Energy Systems provides cost effective and reliable energy and other utility services to assigned facilities. Further, the Manager, Energy Systems engages in strategic planning for system renovations, engineering, and management with the goal of improving efficiency. Responsible for providing leadership and technical support on matters that deal with building automation controls and the related computer systems. The Manager, Energy Systems is headed by the Associate Director of Energy Management and Engineered Systems and supported by the Sr. Software Engineer. The Manager, Energy Systems is the head of the Research and Administrative facilities side of the building automation, compliance monitoring, and energy systems group which supports the energy control and compliance monitoring systems across the medical campus and remote satellites for the Miller School of Medicine. The energy systems groups reduces the need for outside vendors by self-preforming complicated HVAC and lighting automation projects along with the service and maintenance required to sustain these intricate systems. This positions primary area of coverage will be the Research and Administrative facilities on the Medical Campus and at remote satellites.
Investigate and resolve any issues resulting from substandard performance and ensure service policies and procedures are followed by team members.
Coordinates and performs the duties necessary to achieve design requirements for interoperability, monitoring, and control of varied systems through the translation of dissimilar communication protocols and presentation across industry-standard platforms.
Supervise maintenance and installation of the Building Automation System. (Computerized control systems for the mechanical equipment, e.g.; Air Handlers, chillers, etc.)
Compile information on normal operating systems/operating performance criteria building; outside air ventilation rates, potable hot water storage and delivery requirements, space pressurization, and space humidity and temperature requirements.
Responsible for accuracy of the building maintenance management data to ensure systems integrity.
Consults FDC during new project conception and implementation ensuring mechanical and electrical designs accommodate existing building design and use case.
Collaborates with Central Energy Plant (CEP) to ensure mechanical system retain expected efficiencies.
Evaluates Test and Balance reports for new construction ensuring design intent for the project was met.
Preforms new project commissioning validating provided systems are complete and preforming as expected.
Preforms retro-commissioning on existing buildings creating lists of deficiencies to be resolved though coordination with CEP and PP personal.

Tridium Niagara AX/N4 certification.
Certification in relevant specialty or field
Energy Manager in Training (EMIT) or able to become EMIT within 12 months
BS in Engineering discipline preferred or Five (5) years’ experience in lieu of degree will be accepted.
5 years related experience in energy and project management.
The individual must possess valid motor vehicle operator’s license as issued by the State. The person must maintain such valid license during tenure of employment
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
Comprehensive knowledge on all aspects of building Mechanical, Electrical and Control systems.
Extensive experience with large tonnage chillers and the associated water and air distribution systems.
Knowledge of laboratory and critical health care mechanical systems.
Well versed in all facets on Information Technology.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to effectively handle conflict resolution and problem solving.
Must have excellent people skills in order to build positive relationship with staff, customers and stakeholders.
Must be a tenacious leader able to provide guidance and support to all stakeholders.
Must be able to multi-task with strong prioritization, scheduling, and delegation abilities.
