About the role

Our plant in Eldridge IA has completed the implementation phases for automation, and we are seeking an I&C Technician to assist in sustaining and maintaining these improvements! We strive to win every day with our Danaher Business System tools, driving continuous improvement and personal achievement.

We will rely on you to install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical equipment, pumps, pneumatics, and PVC pipes among other equipment. You will work closely with our Maintenance Manager in the plant and participate in planning daily work and resource utilization, problem solving, and project work. This is a unique opportunity to expand your skillset and cross train on equipment, crafts, and other areas in addition to Instrumentation and Controls.

We are a smaller team at the Eldridge plant, primarily working day shift. You will not be on call, but on occasion, there will be the opportunity for overtime during the weekends/nights. Additionally, you will be working indoors within our heated facility. Employee safety is one of our highest priorities!

Responsibilities

• Assist with plant-wide preventative maintenance program emphasizing on I&C issues and needs.

• General maintenance and repair of all types of specialized equipment specific to plant operations. Manage and maintain equipment according to work instructions or preventive maintenance tasks

• Troubleshooting of all current and future automation at the Iowa site

• Design, build, cost analysis and/or implementation of future automation projects as needed.

• Follow company safety policies including safe operation of equipment, PPE usage, hand tool safety, lock-out-tag-out, and proper storage of tools, etc. and compliance with good housekeeping policies.

• Contractor Management when an outside vendor is used

• Suggest improvements and support kaizen and DBS activities

• Accurately perform required computer data entry; attention to detail is a critical function. Report complicated equipment malfunctions to supervision

Are you qualified?

• Associate degree or Trade School Certification in Electrical/Mechanical/Chemical Systems or Applied Science preferred (training and knowledge of electrical safety is important)

• 5+ years' proven experience in electrical/mechanical engineering, automation, or controls required

• Working understanding of MCCs, PLCs, VFDs, motor starters and holding circuits with Cat5e / data standard methodologies, punch down and testing knowledge preferred
