Principal Technology Business Services Consultant - ServiceNow Data Quality

The Enterprise Functions Technology (EFT) group provides technology solutions and support for Risk, Audit, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Corporate Properties, and Stakeholder Relations business lines. In addition, EFT provides unique technology solutions and innovation for Wells Fargo Technology, Enterprise Shared Services, and Enterprise Data Management. This combined portfolio of applications and tools are continually engineered to meet the challenges of stability, security, scalability, and speed.

Enterprise Service Management (ESM) is a new organization in EFT which represents the integration of the ServiceNow delivery team, IT data, and Governance to provide an unmatched, industry-leading experience for customers and employees alike. ESM's vision is to empower our teams to work smarter, faster, and more consistently through efficient process, reusable capabilities, and trusted data. The vision will be accomplished by focusing on the following four priorities:

  • Value realization though out-of-the-box implementation
  • Increased efficiency and effectiveness resulting in an improved employee experience

Wells Fargo is seeking a Principal Technology Business Services Consultant who will be responsible for providing leadership for the buildout of a ServiceNow data quality function, including metrics and scorecards, in alignment with enterprise and IT data governance policies and standards. They will collaborate with data and system architects and work across multiple technology and business teams that design, manage, and use ServiceNow and its data to deliver enterprise services.

Position Responsibilities and Expected Outcomes:

  • Serve as a top subject matter professional to lead complex, innovative, high risk, and diverse initiatives with companywide cross technology impact, or with significant scope, cost, and benefits
  • Lead the strategy and resolution of the most complex and significant challenges across multiple lines of business or the enterprise
  • Define, plan, develop, and implement or consult on major information technology strategies, processes, or ongoing programs with broad cross technology impact
  • Provide vision, leadership, and industry expertise regarding technology matters to develop programs that are effective, efficient, and which significantly influence the organization's business
  • Lead the technology team to provide support and drive strategic initiatives for the business and for execution of operational processes
  • Serve as an experienced advisor to more experienced leadership across the technology organizations or client lines of business
  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert for how out-of-the-box ServiceNow tools, capabilities, and functions can be leveraged to support a data quality and data governance program.
  • Collaborate with ServiceNow data owners and product teams to ensure clear data ownership, roles, and responsibilities are in place and operationalized. 
  • Develop control structures to ensure the accuracy and quality of ServiceNow data through all upstream and downstream channels, including regular data accuracy certification and attestation.
  • Provide thought leadership in data quality projects that involve upstream or downstream data flows and processes.
  • Ensure controls and OLAs/SLAs are in place with interfacing applications and that data integrity processes are being executed for all data entering and leaving the ServiceNow platform.
  • Coordinate the resolution of ServiceNow data integrity gaps and issues by working with the data advisory board, product owners, and application owners.
  • Identify data quality control gaps.
  • Align with enterprise data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Execute data quality reviews to benchmark the state of data quality.
  • Monitor data governance, data quality and metadata policies, standards, tools, processes, or procedures to ensure data control and remediation.
  • Consult with interfacing applications to assess the current state of data quality.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of Information Technology in support of Business Services experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 2+ years of ServiceNow CMDB experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Data quality and governance experience.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of research and analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a virtual team environment.

  • Quality Assurance experience
  • Wells Fargo business services experience
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in information technology

Job Expectations:

  • Partner with a team of professionals across the Enterprise to implement and execute the ServiceNow Data Governance and Quality roadmap.
  • Work with partners to help test and identify new data quality requirements.
  • Perform deep dive analysis on data anomalies to determine the root cause.
  • Facilitate or play a key role in governance meetings, such as the ServiceNow Data Advisory Board.
  • Establish relationships and support the communication across business teams, technical partners, and upstream/downstream partners regarding data clean-up efforts.
  • Lead the creation of a data quality metrics scorecard.
  • Willingness to work on-site at stated location on the job opening
