Position highlights
Responsibilities of this role include:
- Meeting with the agency/department designee to review records, policies, and procedures;
- Reviewing findings with agency and department official(s);
- Making recommendations to agencies to ensure policy and/or procedure compliance.
Additionally, Associate Research Analysts perform comprehensive examinations of law enforcement systems records, usage and documentation of criminal justice and non-criminal justice entities that use federal and state law enforcement systems.
This position may require travel for conferences, training, or meetings with the use of a department vehicle for these functions.
This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday, 7:30AM-4PM.

The mission of the Research, Development and Planning unit is to provide support and assistance to all personnel in the Connecticut State Police and the public by implementing training bulletins, department procedures, writing department policy, and reviewing state and federal reports/laws for audits.

The Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection is comprised of six divisions which include: CT State Police, Emergency Management & Homeland Security, Police Officers Standards & Training Council, Fire Prevention & Control, Scientific Services and Statewide Emergency Telecommunications.
Qualifications & Requirements MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - General Experience
Seven (7) years of professional experience in research, data analysis or economics.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Special Experience
One (1) year of the General Experience must have been conducting research at the level of a Research Analyst.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Substitutions Allowed
College training may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equalling one-half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of four (4) years for a Bachelor's degree.
A Master's degree in economics, statistics or a closely related field may be substituted for one (1) additional year of the General Experience.
