Early Childhood Education Specialist
Summary:
This position works with Boys Town Head Start staff to guide and coordinate educational efforts for children with special educational and disability needs.
Responsibilities:
▪️ Coordinate education, child development services, and administrative activities for Head Start programs.
▪️ Develop, monitor, and implement curriculum and procedures for all children.
▪️ Monitor centers for material, curriculum alignment, and support for dual language learners.
▪️ Provide accurate assessment and designation of enrolled children.
▪️ Ensure transitional plans are developed for all students.
▪️ Consult with teachers on remediation of communication disorders.
▪️ Demonstrate concern and respect for individual children, facilitating their academic and social growth.
▪️ Assess and coordinate services for children with disabilities and their families.
▪️ Ensure appropriate referrals for developmental concerns.
▪️ Participate in the administration of the Head Start Education Program.
▪️ Collaborate with the Head Start Director to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
▪️ Design and manage a system for tracking student enrollment, attendance, and disabilities.
▪️ Regularly monitor and report educational data.
▪️ Conduct program audits for compliance with regulations and funding guidelines.
▪️ Utilize data systems to ensure proper documentation.
▪️ Monitor educational timelines and update data in the database system.
▪️ Oversee teacher certification, staff development activities, and early education processing.
▪️ Ensure records are obtained for educational and professional development trainings.
▪️ Initiate and follow up on contracts with other school districts for services.
Qualifications & Requirements Qualifications:
▪️ Bachelor's degree in education, related field, or equivalent experience.
▪️ Experience in early childhood education and supervision, including working with children with disabilities.
▪️ Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
▪️ Ability to provide own transportation and meet auto insurance requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
▪️ Master's degree preferred.
