The State of Connecticut, Department of Correction (DOC) is recruiting to fill current vacancies for the position of Correctional Plumber and Steamfitter at Corrigan Correctional Center, Osborn Correctional Institution and York Correctional Institution. This recruitment may be used to fill vacancies throughout the State correctional facilities as openings occur within the next year.

Position Highlights
- This position is full time on first shift, Monday through Friday, from 7:45 AM until 3:00 PM.
- Selected candidates will be required to attend a paid 14-week hazardous duty training at the Maloney Center for Training & Staff Development located in Cheshire, Connecticut.

Qualifications & Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - General Experience
Three (3) years of experience as a plumber and/or steamfitter.
NOTE: Based on an individual’s technical experience, the length of credited service will be determined at the discretion of facility management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Special Experience
One (1) year of the General Experience must have been at a highly skilled level.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Substitutions Allowed
- Graduation from a vocational or technical school in the trade may be substituted for one (1) year of the General Experience.
- Experience performing technical duties within the maintenance trade area on a military base, aircraft carrier or large compound may be substituted for the General and Special Experience on a year-for-year basis.
