Manager of Government Reporting
Position Summary
The Manager of Government Reporting is responsible for overseeing all government-related reporting, compliance documentation, grant reporting, regulatory submissions, and financial reporting requirements for a lithium battery separator manufacturing company. This role ensures accurate, timely, and compliant reporting to federal, state, and local agencies while supporting operational transparency, funding initiatives, tax incentives, environmental reporting, and strategic business objectives.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, knowledge of manufacturing reporting requirements, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, environmental health and safety (EHS), human resources, supply chain, and executive leadership.

Teamwork & Collaboration
Build strong cross-functional partnerships with Finance, Operations, HR, EHS, Legal, and Executive Leadership to ensure accurate and timely government reporting.
Promote effective communication and information sharing across departments to support compliance and reporting requirements.
Serve as a collaborative resource for teams involved in grants, tax incentives, audits, and regulatory initiatives.
Foster a culture of responsiveness, professionalism, and partnership when working with internal and external stakeholders.
Support organizational alignment by ensuring reporting activities contribute to overall business goals and operational success.
Key Responsibilities
Government & Regulatory Reporting
Prepare and submit required reports to federal, state, and local government agencies accurately and on time.
Manage compliance reporting related to manufacturing operations, grants, incentives, tax abatements, workforce programs, and environmental regulations.
Coordinate reporting requirements tied to government funding, economic development agreements, and capital investment programs.
Ensure compliance with reporting standards associated with lithium battery manufacturing and related industrial regulations.
Maintain documentation supporting audits, certifications, and compliance reviews.
Financial & Operational Reporting
Compile operational and financial data required for government submissions and compliance reporting.
Partner with finance and operations teams to validate production, employment, payroll, and capital expenditure data.
Track and report metrics related to headcount, production volumes, investments, and project milestones.
Assist in preparing internal dashboards and executive summaries related to compliance and government obligations.
Audit & Compliance Management
Serve as primary contact during government audits and compliance reviews.
Maintain organized records and reporting documentation in accordance with retention requirements.
Monitor changes in reporting regulations and ensure company compliance with evolving requirements.
Identify reporting risks and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
Work closely with operations, engineering, EHS, HR, legal, and finance teams to gather required data and ensure reporting accuracy.
Support strategic initiatives involving grants, incentives, workforce development programs, and expansion projects.
Assist leadership with data requests and reporting tied to customer, governmental, and stakeholder inquiries.
Continuous Improvement
Develop and improve reporting processes, controls, and systems to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Implement standardized reporting procedures and templates.
Support automation and data integrity initiatives within reporting systems.
Qualifications & Requirements Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field required.
CPA, CMA, or compliance-related certification preferred.
Experience
5+ years of experience in government reporting, compliance, finance, accounting, or manufacturing reporting.
Experience in manufacturing, automotive, energy, chemical, or battery-related industries preferred.
Experience working with government grants, tax incentives, or regulatory reporting strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Strong understanding of government compliance and reporting requirements.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/reporting systems.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
