Move Forward or Move On, You Decide (247 hits)

It seems that some people have forgotten that the premise behind blogging on BIA is, '...to keep us informed on current thoughts, events or interests'. It doesn't say that you should read, or even agree with for that matter, what others post, but respect should be the main priority. One would think that there are people who need a helping hand due to the trials and tribulations that they are facing. Everyone is different, and there are a multitude situations that we will have to endure in our lives. Not everyone is blessed to have someone in their life to lean on during the rough times. They come here because we all share one great commonality, our ethnicity. Here is a place where we can find stimulating conversations, support, and a comforting thought.
I have always been know to speak out against things that are wrong and I am quite passionate about these things, fighting fire with fire. There have been those occasions when I have tried to rise above such retaliations, but they have been rare, and I am working on that. However, I refuse to stand quietly by while there are people out there trying to bring comfort and support to others and people attack them due to their own level of ignorance. I realize that there are people out there who can never be reached nor reached out to without be criticized for trying to be helpful. I have learned that there are people who choose to remain ignorant. No matter how hard you try, to matter how right you may be, they will not listen to or accept reason.
When you choose to attack someone, and that will always be the case, you should do so privately, not announce it publicly, hoping that others will hop on the bandwagon. This is not the place for this type of behavior, this place is for uplifting our brothers and sisters. If there are those who are not capable of doing this, feel free to go to another website that promotes the same negativity that permeates your soul.

hey, I am not going to get involved, since I just found out from Katherine..but unfortunately WE cannot legislate what others say if it is their valid opinion. The door swings both ways. Take for instance my publicly exposing a "scam artist" under those Nigerian "love letter" e-mails, I got hit in the head for it, though my purpose was altruistic. When we point the finger, we must remember which way the thumb is pointing back at us..as much as I hate to acknowldege the truth, the constitutional right to free speech is guaranteed, we can attack the President's flaws or character..why would not this freedom be extended to ourselves? Just a gentle reminder, that we pay a price for Democracy.
