For migraine headaches.... Sage(Salvia officinalis) (1156 hits)

A beautiful legend about Sage is that when Mary was fleeing from Herod no other plant would give her shelter but Sage. Virgin Mary told the Sage plant: 'From now to eternity you will be the favorite flower of mankind. I give you the power to heal man of all illness and save him from death as you have done for me.'

The Romans used Sage in their baths, Many have found relief in the smoke for sinus congestion and pain, and even for migraine headaches. burn sage in a little metal container, or some type of ceramic or ironstone dish. Put some clean sand in the bottom as an insulator, and NEVER use glass. Before going to bed, try using sage to clean away the physical and emotional grime and stress of the day. For a peaceful night's rest, break off a single leaf, and burn it carefully in your safe container. Some people boil sage and drink the water as a tea.

It's amazing how the spices in your cabinet can clear the air. I use to use peppermint in my potpourri dish, but I haven't been able to find the plant since I've been in the south.
