Hollywood, CA -- On the heels of her stellar performance as Reina Alfaro, an aspiring yoga teacher threatened to be deported back to El Savador on USAs In Plain Sight, Venezuelan born stunner Yeniffer Behrens stars in three short films that have all garnered recent film festival entry and accolades.
In IL Destino, (directed by Fanny Veliz) Behrens , plays the long lost love interest. Based on a true story of a man who transforms his life, after crossing paths with the love of his youth. The film was recently nominated for an Imagen Award and is an official selection at the historic CineSol Film Festival in Texas.
In the short film Fallen Hero (directed by Marco Santiago Jr.), tells the story of a young boy, portrayed flawlessly by Behrens real life son, Adrian Moreira -Behrens, who witnesses the beating of his father and the aftermath that follows. Yeniffer and her son had the unique opportunity to work side by side in this inspiring tale. The film has received numerous accolades and was screened to raving reviews at the 2010 LA Shorts Film Festival.
Screening on closing night of the HollyShorts Film Festival during the Latino program, Lucia No Besa a Nadie (Lucia Kisses NoOne) walked away with top honors as the Audience Choice Award. In 2009, the film was awarded Best Latino Film at the 2009 Downtown L.A. Film Festival. Written and Directed by Emanuel Gironi, the film explores the latent effects that child abuse has on its victims as adults. It is a jarring, riveting look at how a seemingly chance encounter between two supposed strangers turns into a relationship much more unexpected and edgy. Once again, Ms. Behrens turned in a outstanding performance as Jordanna.
released indie films, Behrens starred alongside Corey Haim in his last feature film; Decisions; also she worked on Kenneth Castillo’s Drive-By Chronicles III: Confession of a Gangster. Behrens was thrilled to lend her talent to all three short films. She is a strong believer in the strength and commitment of independent filmmakers
