Why Did You Make Me Black Lord

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Why Did You Make Me Black Lord

This is deep, so take your time.

Why Did You Make Me Black Lord ?...
Lord .... Why did you make me black?
Why did you make someone
the world would hold back?

Black is the color of dirty clothes,
of grimy hands and feet...
Black is the color of darkness,
of tired beaten streets...

Why did you give me thick lips,
a broad nose and kinky hair?
Why did you create someone

who receives the hated stare?

Black is the color of the bruised eye
when someone gets hurt...
Black is the color of darkness,
black is the color of dirt.

Why is my bone structure so thick,
my hips and cheeks so high?
Why are my eyes brown,
and not the color of the sky?

Why do people think I'm useless?
How come I feel so used?
Why do people see my skin
and think I should be abused?

Lord, I just don't understand...
What is it about my skin?
Why is it some people want to hate me
and not know the person within?

Black is what people are "Labeled"
when others want to keep them away...
Black is the color of shadows cast...
Black is the end of the day.

Lord you know my own people mistreat me,
and you know this just ain't right...
They don't like my hair, they don't like my
skin, as they say I'm too dark or too light!

Lord, don't you think
it's time to make a change?
Why don't you redo creation
and make everyone the same?

GOD's Reply:

Why did I make you black?

Why did I make you black?

I made you in the color of coal
from which beautiful diamonds are formed...
I made you in the color of oil,
the black gold which keeps people warm.

Your color is the same as the rich dark soil
that grows the food you need...
Your color is the same as the black stallion and
panther, Oh what majestic creatures indeed!

All colors of the heavenly rainbow
can be found throughout every nation...
When all these colors are blended,
you become my greatest creation!

Your hair is the texture of lamb's wool,
such a beautiful creature is he...
I am the shepherd who watches them,
I will ALWAYS watch over thee!

You are the color of the midnight sky,
I put star glitter in your eyes...
There's a beautiful smile hidden behind your pain...
That's why your cheeks are so high!

You are the color of dark clouds
from the hurricanes I create in September...
I made your lips so full and thick,
so when you kiss...they will remember!

Your stature is strong,
your bone structure thick to withstand the
burden of time...
The reflection you see in the mirror,
that image that looks back,..that is MINE!

So get off your knees,
look in the mirror and tell me what you see?
I didn't make you in the image of darkness...
I made you in the image of ME!

Brother Salim Kujitawala, you did not give credit to the authoress of this poem, a very lovely woman who I am honored to know, who helped to raise me, and find the love for me in this world where I had been taught to hate myself.
The name of that woman is RuNett Nia Ebo.

Hello Ms. Clark,

Your poem is misleading, abstract and ridiculous. God had nothing to do with Black Americans being Black and to say that God made us, Black Americans black as coal because diamonds come from coal is absolutely ridiculous.

This type of abstract ridiculous reasoning would mislead the minds of our children.

Black Americans wants to chew on something intelligent, rational and real.

Hello Ms. Clark,

Where is the hate in what I said? What I said was the truth and the truth is what is hurting you. You need to see life for Black Americans as it really is. Again, God had nothing to do with us being Black Americans.

Secondly, when you have competition it is good. Competition promotes the growth of the mind to think and rationalize better. We minded people runs from competition. I am not against you and neither should you be against me. What the both of us should be against is ignorance.

Anyway, explain to me where is this so-called hate you are accusing me of?

What say you?

I like this and I'm going to share it with some folk via email!

I believe the poem speaks to the hearts of Black people in America that may be struggling with self acceptance. There are so many challenges that we have to overcome to be successful, but self hatred is the main challenge that keeps us from achieving our goals and dreams in this country of so much opportunity. It wasn't until I started to love and appreciate myself that I became empowered to stand strong and proud in my own skin. Thank you so very much for this poem.

Hello to All,

You all sound as inferior people when you say things such as the poem empowered you to stand strong and proud in your skin. This statement is a red flag of hidden psychological problems, am I right.

Secondly, how can a poem move you in White America's land of so many opportunities? Let me remind you that this land (soil) belongs to White Americans and Black Americans. Why do you not think in terms of having your own land of so many opportunities?

However, the opportunities or the bubbling and sparkling success of this country belongs to White Americans only. The portion of this continent (soil) Black Americans are going to inherit that we could call our very own country with borders we will have to grow from scratch our own bubbling and sparkling success as well.
I know that you all do not believe the things I say that are going to happen will happen. No people ever believed their prophet and you all are no different from the people of the past regardless of racial differences, am I right.

Is there anyone out there that would agree with me?

Am I making any sense?

HALLOWEEN IS TOMORROW...Some people like Harry dont need to buy a mask because they keep it on all year...LOL

Prophet Harry will you treat your followers this year? Or, are you going to continue your old TRICKS?

LOL...Harry reminds me of Bokeem Woodbine's character in the movie "Life"...just can't get right...LOL

Also prepare yourself for those other goblins named Ahamed Gaig and Robert Powell...they are VERY Satanic...

dianneClark

again, as I have written on your other subject, thank you for the excellent scholarship

I must apologize, I make a Rule NOT to comment on commentators

but

the trifling few of BIA, has written above,

"Harry reminds me of Bokeem Woodbine's character in the movie "Life"...just can't get right...LOL

Also prepare yourself for those other goblins named Ahamed Gaig and Robert Powell...they are VERY Satanic..."

i guess i was called out by the false colorWorshipping siebra, who has the writing style of spongeBob, a Cartoon.

she wishes to spread in our Nation, the idea that there are "black" muslims----As a Muslim, I know that the 2 Billion Muslims in the world, believe in AlQur'aan and the Sunnah of Mohamed(as) and represent the Creator of Adaam(as) WITHOUT the sillyIgnorance of dividing the Family of Adaam(as) by the paganChristian concept of racialisticRacism, or colorWorship.

as for harry, another of the falseDivine colorWorshippers, he and siebra farakhanMadoof are the same, colorWorshipper paganChristians

ahamed, our brother saint has already proven he to be a cartoon also from bigNYLA apeDavidJohnson

harry and siebra run and hide from AlQur'aan, Sunnah and the Muslims.

so do siebraHarry learn something sometime, and end your silly cartoons, this young lady is trying to smash the stereotype of ignorance in BIA...........

Sis. Dianne, I don't believe in ignorance, but I'll tell you what this Bootlicking, Lap Dog who goes by the name of Powell Robert believes in? Witches, Werewolf, Witch Craft, Warlocks, Spooks, Spirits, Ghosts, Imps, Elfs, Vampires, Demons, Fairies, the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, just as long as it is not real. That is where his mind is, in something that does not exist, the UNREAL. He is Loaded all the time on some mind altering Drug and Old English 800, that makes this Fool see what is not there, and that's why he cannot write complete sentences, or capitalize the first letter of your name despite the fact he claims he has a Master's degree in English.

Harry may be looney, but at least Harry does appear to have some knowledge about subject-verb agreement and dangling participles...

the subject of any blog on BIA, should fit the Preamble of BIA

"Black In America is an online community for African American men, women, and families, and want to shatter negative stereotypes and misconceptions. This platform stimulates positive ideas, dialogue and solutions. This site is not affiliated with CNN, but does compliment their "Black In America" special reports."

LYING is a stereotype that the african that became an america has been saddled with 1492-1864 and I guess 11/2011(herman cain, siebra muhammad)

so I would like to follow the BIA Subject,

and STOP the LIARS...........of colorWorship

irma,

freedom of what religion?

My religion is AlIslaam, and this is manifested in 1400+ years of Islaamic Scholarship of AlQur'aan and the Sunnah of Mohamed(as)

AlIslaam has NOTHING to do with colorWorship!

siebra has thrown DIRT on the Belief of 2 BIllion Muslims by using terms like, "black" muslim and fard, in the person of a_________h. This is the ultimate TRASH.

she is MORE a religious follower of the paganChristian europeans that gave the african slave 1492-1864, colorWorship-----

yes she is a stereotype of the WORTHLESSNESS of colorWorship of our Slave History.

you want me to have an OPEN MIND about the joy of slaverAmericana?

you ask me to be a FOOL! NO that I will not be...............
