We need a fresh perspective on this sight. Where are all of the people who clicks on the blogs but do not speak? This site seems to have dwindled to the same few bloggers and we seem to discuss the same topics. Race, and Religion seem to get the most play. Well, unless Harry writes a blog and says something stupid. We cannot critize the new blood that has attempted to interject fresh, young ideas into the mix. We need to listen to the youth. After all they are going to pick up the gauntlet and carry on. If we don't listen to them, we won't know what they are thinking and they are not getting history in its purity. The educational system is trying to eleminate history as we know it. If they have their way, they will know nothing that happened before the civil rights movement. And that will be doctored so that people of color will be lost. My friend use to say that Martin Luther King will be white in 50 years. Taking the color out of history is the first step and if we don't get our kids back, they won't know diddle squat.

A fresh perspective on life you mean. I think we need open perspective on history & Black history. Not just Martin Luther king, Fredrick Dougles, & Rosa Parks, On people like Frank Yerby (a writer), Leon Howard Sullivan ( a business Man), & Brigier General Marcelite Harris (the frist black female five General in the Air Force). We need to exspand are perspective, see the bigger picture. We need stop fight each other and educate our children. Only you can keep history alive. Thank Thomasena for fresh Perspective..

Jake, I understand what you are saying; however, I like your strong responses. That tells me you believe what you are saying and not just spitting in the wind. You also have data to back up your points. I am talking about those who spread mis information and untruths. I'm with you on the forgiveness issue. I try to live my life so that I don't have to aologize. I usually don't believe apologies anyway. People tend to throw apologies around like gum wrappers. Now, let's see where this goes.

Irma, I think I understand what you mean. What do we really know about history unless we lived it. That is what we need to preserve. We can research past history and if enough people say the same thing maybe, just maybe there is some truth. But, we need to do some research and not depend on the other man to do it for us.

Amen!!! So true! My personal rule before deciding whether to post something here is--will this be instructive, enriching, insightful or amusing to the community? Just now, I posted a new poem by one of my favorites--Sonia Sanchez--who wrote a new poem in honor of the late singer Nina Simone, also one of my favorites. Since we have some poetry lovers AND jazz lovers on this site, I felt really excited to share it. My feeling is: this is a social media site that is open to everybody. This is like the market square or the local street corner where folks come to gather and shoot the breeze. Some folks--as we know all too well--don't have much of value to contributre. But so many other do--and I look forward to reading their posts and comments because I feel I can learn from them. You have to take it all as it comes...the good with the bad. But it never hurts to elevate the level of the conversation. Classy call, Thomasena!!!

As Laila Mannan(Sonia Sanchez) said recently, "....we were all Muslims, or Muslim influenced. Islam altered the mythology and ritual of black America. again, Dr. Thomasena Martin-Johnson is educating us. and sweetIrma is CORRECTLY educating us, when she writes, "when it comes to religion even, what do we know about it, its history, its struggles and changes in it and why??? (smile) "I" mantion all of this, because every thing must change... " thank you Dr. Thomasena and Dr. Irma for your wisdom............ the perspective, i believe, we have to use is the ONE right in OUR face..... President Baraka Hussein Obama he is not a 'black'President of the USA! his IS The Greatest President Democracy and euroCentrism, has EVER produced............... and he has NO colorWorshipSlaverAmericana baggage Governance Agenda, for the USA and World............ it is a CHANGE that I have been waited for, that i deserve, that America NEEDS.............. we just got to moveOn away from the euroCentric leads presented by the above NYCITYprofessor and understand he is talking about -Laila Mannan(Sonia Sanchez); who said recently, "....we were all Muslims, or Muslim influenced. Robert, The first inhabitants of what became Europe were "Black" Grimaldi man. There were no white people at first. They came along much later. And, Grimaldi man had melanin to protect them from the sun which was in the hands of the creator. I know how you feel about this color thing but sometimes I have to use it for clarity. Quiet as it is kept, since you can't get black out of white and you can get white out of black and white, blond and blue eyes are recessive trates, I think they are of the same race or make up as I. Just a little something was left out, like forgetting to put baking power in the cornbread when I was young so I sprinkled it on top. Needless to say, it did not rise. lol

@Jake I am in B'klyn & I spoke to your dumb Hebrew brothers. One showed me a passage from the Bible where in Moses was warning his people that if they right they would back to Egypt ln ships and then he asked me the question who were the only people brought here in ships. When I said Africans he froze because he thought my answer would BlackAmericans. I added that Whites, Chinese, Japanese, Polish and etc. all came here by ships because commerical flights were not available. We are some stupid people at the moment, but all of that is going to change ln my life time. Again, my question was this, did plantation acqure ln this and lasted for 300 years and in those did White Americans breed themselves continueously that produced a new race of people.

oh sorry, From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Grimaldi man was a name given in the early 20th century to an Italian find of two paleolithic skeletons, supposedly showing negroid traits........[1] In the 1960s, the Grimaldi find, together with various other European finds of early modern humans, was classified as Cro-Magnon ......The true nature of Grimaldi man is still a subject of controversy. oooKKK, i have always stated that MANY on BIA are of controversal origin, and lack even croMagnon writing intelligence........and are gossippy, innuendoish and controversal............ i still like the Websters definition of 'black' better, but it is always GREAT to have the History professor sweetIrma answer questions for Dr. Thomasena Martin-Johnson and Stanford grads--- i am sure selfProfessed 68IQ, almost retarded Harry -- appreciates the history lesson because it is what he has been writing all along, the African was nothing until the European made it.....something?

It never ceases to amaze me that some people on this site uses christianity, European thought, other religions and leaders to support a point when it suits them. How do we know there was a Moses? Some of the people support the negative thinking that has been handed down since Colombus got lost, but that is okay too and the rest of us are not suppose to see the fallacy in that thinking. I am not surprised that some cannot follow a decent premise in a discussion and when someone disagrees, then the name calling and the disrespect begins. This is typical crabs in a bucket. Why would intelligent people follow someone blindly? That makes no sense to a thinking person. That is how we got here in the first place. I can remember when religious leaders would say "Don't question God" when they didn't have an answer to a question. I don't have a problem saying I don't know or I get the information before I speak. AS far as answering questions, I did answer all of them of importance or pertinant to the topic at hand. And now I don't feel the need to repeat myself. Granite is harder than diamonds so why waste my time. I do understand why some people get off the subject; they don't know anymore information. It is sad that in 2012, we are still following the plan designed for us by somebody else. When are we going to have our own plan? David has a good start. When will we take up the mantle for ourselves? When will we stop making true the negatives created about us? My Dad ssid never. We are too busy digging ditches for our fellow man to fall in so we can have one up on the next person. Come on people wake up. If what I said did not fit you, then I am not talking to you.

i understand 'fresh' perspective fresh, slang or websters fresh (frsh) adj. fresh·er, fresh·est 1. New to one's experience; not encountered before. 2. Novel; different: a fresh slant on the problem. 3. Recently made, produced, or harvested; not stale or spoiled: fresh bread. 4. Not preserved, as by canning, smoking, or freezing: fresh vegetables. 5. Not saline or salty: fresh water. 6. Not yet used or soiled; clean: a fresh sheet of paper. 7. Free from impurity or pollution; pure: 8. new: fresh evidence. 9. Bright and clear; not dull or faded: a fresh memory. 10. Having the glowing, unspoiled appearance of youth: a fresh complexion. 11. Untried; inexperienced: fresh recruits. 12. Having just arrived; straight: fashions fresh from Paris. 13. Revived or reinvigorated; refreshed: I was fresh as a daisy after the nap. 14. Fairly strong; brisk: a fresh wind. 15. Informal Bold and saucy; impudent. 16. Having recently calved and therefore with milk. Used of a cow. 17. Slang Excellent; first-rate. YOU have developed a fresh perspective on things in a short time on BIA i remember ----msThomasena Martin-Johnson ------ on another blog subject agreeing with me that columbus NEVER got lost, the Muslim Nations of the Uthmaniya in Europe and the Magrebee in North Africa made the journey to the CIVILIZED world impossible for the european paganChristians.......unless they went WEST over the ocean.......and since columbus LEARNED navalNavigation from the Muslims of Sicily he KNEW where to go. as for the grimaldi man?------thats fresh or just croMagnon thinking sweetIrma does KNOW her Science---- thank you but, history shows that the colorWorship is a paganChristian explanation for slaverAmericana and genocideNative the european gave the World the explanation that there were twoAdaams or as the Mormons REFINED the silliness ----the bad angels were made 'black' from 'white'; by their 'god' on Kolob....... and yes for selfProfessed Harry -- grimaldi should make sense to you -

It seems that the new perspective has turned into the same ole same ole...so I will leave you to your tiopes of the year and move on. I don't have time keep repeating myself. There is too much to do and say. Name calling has returned so go back and read what I wrote a year or so ago. I am still looking for new innovative ideas on fixing the mess and names of those who are willing to take the plunge. This I will repeat: WE NEED TO TAKE OUR KIDS BACK TEACH THEM OURSELVES AND REBUILD OUR COMMUNITIES STOP WAITING FOR SUPERMAN AND WE DONT NEED BORDERS AS DEFINE BY A COUNTRY. THIS IS MY COUNTRY, MY ANCESTORS OWNED IT AND GAVE IT TO ME, AND MY FATHER FOUGHT FOR IT!!!

@THOMASENA, THANK YOU AND NEVER BE SORRY FOR your valuable teaching moments...to me and for me tis is th epurpose of dialogue. (smile) What my comment to robert was intending to say is migration from the Equator to the norhthern parts requiring more heat not the reflection of the heat could not have been posiable because it was not there, that eht earth one could not see with ones own eyes did not exist at all. that skin color was invented only to cause hate, fear and rejection...
