However, Jackson and Maclin have found themselves on the injury report early this season which may mean that Andy Reid is looking to sign another receiver in case one of his starters have to sit and rest for a week or two. One of the biggest reasons Chad Johnson was a failure with the New England Patriots and the Cincinnati Bengals was because of his route running and inability to learn the playbook. Nobody has ever questioned his talent or passion for the game.
Eagles quarterback Michael Vick could be the perfect QB for a guy like Chad Johnson. Vick is the type of QB who frequently runs around in the backfield which causes things to breakdown in the secondary and forces his receivers to freestyle their routes. As long as Johnson can freestyle his routes and doesn't necessarily have to master the Philadelphia Eagles playbook, he could make a huge impact on their offense.
Whether or not the Philadelphia Eagles are actually considering signing Chad 'Ochocinco' Johnson or not remains to be seen, but it would make a lot of sense.
UPDATE: Despite the rumors, Johnson is reportedly not in Philadelphia to workout for the Eagles.
