My youngest nineteen year old child Erica started attending church with her new half-breed boyfriend and now she is convinced that she is a sinner. She's a virgin, no police record, doesn't drink, smoke or curse. It's like someone came along and snatched her brain right out of order. The White pastor at the church told her that if she didn't join that her relationship with the boyfriend wasn't going to work out. What should I do to get her back on track and convince her that she isn't a sinner?

You missed the point Irma. My Child is in denial about Black people still suffering prejudice from the affects of slavery, because she herself hasn't experience people mistreating her. She is more concerned about the treatment that her mixed friend told her he suffered growing up in an all White family and community. I haven't attended church because I prefer to attend the Kingdom Hall if I go.

Helen, may I suggest, that you attend the next church service with your daughter and her boyfriend. It would give you the opportunity to question the pastor one-on-one. And Helen, surely you know that racism is alive and well in Christianity, on both sides of the pew[Black & White] christians. And Helen, the term "half-breed" is for animals, not humans.

The young man is 21 years old and a youth minister at the church. The first time that he took my daughter to his service. They stayed afterwards so he could introduce her to the pastor, who immediately told her that she was naïve because of her mother. Like all pastors he told everyone during service about his past corrupt life. Anyway, ever since then she has been acting disrespectful and like she knows more about the bible than anyone. I've tried rationalize bible stories to her, (that man doesn't wish to explain s*x to his young children so he always puts a stork or something in to substitute the deed). Her boyfriend Brandon is using his influence over her. I told her that he has no Black identity because his opinion about Blacks is that our dancing and music leads to s*xual overdrive.

I think you and your family should attend a service and meet the pastor. Try to find out as much as you can about the organization and its history as well as any background information about the pastor.
You want to know of he's been to seminary or accredited school, if he's committed any criminal offences or been arrested.
Try to find out what you can and steer clear of trying to convince your daughter about church stuff as it will only draw her closer to that cult she's attending.
The objective of a cult is to divide and isolate the individual in order for the organization to have complete control to brainwash them.
Be praying and fasting on her behalf to be freed from that young guy and that organization.

I do think that she is being manipulated, but I can't understand how a person with a 3.9 grade average can let mental slavery take over her minds. I just found out that she was baptized at the pastors house in his swimming pool(lol--lord have mercy!) I told her that all churches interact with each other and if they didn't have a baptismal pool at the church, the other churches would let them use their. I don't want to cause a scene at the church, but I know where the boyfriend lives and I intend to pray into his neighborhood. Thanks for all your advice.

Helen,
It happens more than you know. These cults are led by religious fanatics with mental health problems. Usually they are narcissists, sociopaths, or psychopaths with lots of charisma. What do you think of the folk in Hollywood getting hooked up with the Church of Scientology?
When I was studying nursing, there were people who were sent to the campus to hang out during each Freshmen enrolment just to recruit new members to their cult/church. I mean you'd think these people were students. I remember seeing this one girl all over campus. She would be in he library, in the gym, in the dorm study room, ect,... She was friendly and so she invited me to a service that was at the time being held this Holiday end.hotel conference area/room. I thought that odd, but these people have an explanation for everything.
Anyway she was too, clingy and wanted me to hangout with her and only people from the her church. I just didn't have time to hang out, because nursing school had all my attention. I remember not long after that our hall resident advisor had a in service on cults and invited the campus chaplain to speak about what constitute a healthy and unhealthy organization. Another freshmen on my hall had gotten involved with the same church and was almost gone if it hadn't been for her mom who got suspicious that when she spoke with her daughter she either wasn't in her room or she was always talking about this church. Her mom came up to the school and pulled her out for a week or two to un brain wash her!
The girl was in tears when she was recounting he experience, because she said that the cult was taking up all her time and her grades had started to fall.

You both make very good points. I have to act normal and not argue with her about it. The boyfriend was raised by his grandmother because his mother died from drug use and he never knew about his Black father's whereabouts until he died last year. I realize that he wants to feel accepted by Blacks but I can tell he feels out of place when he's around us. When I told him about the bible saying to honor thy mother and father, he thought that was a catholic phrase. My daughter should have recognized then that he didn't even know the Ten Commandments .

The reason a 21 year old is more interested in dating younger girls is because they expect less from the relationship. He still lives with his grandparents. Part-time college student with a part-time job. I told my daughter that she is just his church date because they see each other twice a week to attend church. He lives about fifteen miles away, which is his good excuse for not seeing her more often. I would hate to tell you how they met!

How they met is a sad story. He was her Black girlfriends date at the high school prom, she didn't have a date because she was a new student at the school. He tracked her down on facebook and wanted to become her friend. I've been trying to convince her that nothing good will come from this type of relationship. The girlfriend is a member of the same church and hasn't been attending lately.

For what good reason to you dislike this young man? And, Ms. Jen said that there is racism in Christianity on both sides of the pew!
Since Ms. Jen sees racism in Christianity it should tell her that Christianity is not Black America’s true religion. There is no racism in Judaism among the Jews whom the religion belongs and there is no racism in Islam since Islam truly belongs to the Arabian people. And, there can’t be any racism in our religion LIFE because this religion truly belongs to us Black Americans.
So, since Ms. Jen sees racism in Christianity it should tell her stupid-ass that is a good enough reason that Christianity belongs to the European Gentiles.

Of course I recognize this is a family matter. I perceive that your daughter is voicing why is she being called a sinner by the pastor. Yet she has feelings that are amiable toward the young man which she quite truthful that she wants to keep seeing him. Since the pastor has given her advice the relationship won't work out, I believe it because he may be indicating they are unequally yoked because the young man {is possibly a member of the church he attends] and your daughter isn't. The pastor is wanting your daughter to become a member of the church in order to be saved. Now, as far as I can understand your daughter isn't brainwashed but is not clear on why she's being called a sinner? I think perhaps the daughter and even the boyfriend need to give a more accountable reason of zoning in on the relationship they have. The pastor has obviously confused her in having her think she's not a bad person but that she is a sinner. Possibly, He hasn't given her specfics of being saved and or; a commitment for her soul's atonement. I recommend that your daughter have the pastor give her in more detail why she's being considered as a sinner. There is some indication that the doctrine the pastor has given her make requires more prevelant examination in which your daughter has not understood. I think the situation requires some clarification so she will understand the pastor's viewpoint and if she will choose to become a member of the church. Thereby, the equally yoked relationship in the view of her joining is why the pastor might of said the relationship wouldn't workout. Get more details of the doctrine and of course. Follow the WORD.

BTW: Your daughter is young, and in a very emotional expressive time of her life. Give her responsible credit of reasoning to determine she can make sound decisions without influences of others--but those of God can make her life valuable. She wants a sound relationship, and one that is equally yoked of course is better. Have her look at pros and cons of where the relationship is going. She can think it through ...and give her time to consider a review of herself as God to be her guide most of all.

I hear what you're saying, but joining church is not the same as Salvation. Church doctrine isn't to be used over bible basics for which it appears this immature and unqualified pastor is doing.
I really don't think Helen's daughter should be in this organization posing as a church. It's none of the pastor's business about equally yoked or not. His job (if he were a real pastor) is to preach salvation rather than church membership which is the main objective of this so called church. He's looking to prey on he's looking to prey on Helen's daughter and anyone else for monetary gains to enrich his own purse.
Besides, Helen didn't mention that her daughter was engaged to be married so why is the pastor all up in these kids personal business? Unless he's looking to make the guy a pastor (with a wife) and set up other churches in the State.
I've seen and heard to much in my lifetime where bubble gum and store front churches are concerned and this is not a legitimate organization. It's a cult in my opinion and Helen is acting on her God given motherly instincts. She nows this is a set up from the get up.

Yes, of course there are many things from what Helen has indicated that throws up a red light. I can only guess that the preacher is wanting more membership growth. Salvation may be very well why he is telling her she's a sinner, but how he is applying that toward her daughter has caused confusion; and the purpose could very well be unjustly from a good origin. One will not know as you stated unless it is understood the preacher's purpose. I do agree and think that caution should be used in Helen's input of her daughter's well being-- which is why I think to find out more details of what is being told, and to clarify the actions of the pastor's statement. I agree, action is needed and both of them will eventually have to go face to face be willing to find out more. Like you said so many times people can be easily deceived if they are not cautious to investigate a false following. Overall, I think we have basically voiced similar opinions

I said there is no racism in Judaism because Judaism came specifically to and for the Jewish people and other people like some Ethiopians.
I am not just simply saying that there is no racism in Judaism. I am moving forward to show and prove the there isn’t any racism in Judaism STUPID and you have to do the same to be creditable.
The fact that Ms. Jen sees racism in Christianity is because Christianity do not belong to her because she not a European Gentile woman. Stupid-ass Ms. Jen is a Black American woman.

I know; you're very patient. I'm on the other hand am a totally different story altogether! Ha! Plus, I have personal experience from how these people turn sincere people away from wanting to know God and His Saving Grace made available through Jesus and His Redemptive Plan. We aren't to tolerate them which is why I don't bother mincing my words. Helen is a parent and would do whatever is necessary within her might to protect her daughter from predators as would any parent. We all must do what we feel convicted of in our hearts regardless to what any other person says. I know I would.

Hold up wait a minute! The story has reach a climate. After letting my daughter review all the false information on the covenant Christian church pastor, she and her boyfriend still decides to attend. The place from which the pastors got their degrees was from the Destiny School of Ministry which according to the Better Business Bureau only received it's accreditation in December of 2010.
I confronted the boyfriend when he came over to pick her up Thursday evening and while we were arguing he tell my daughter to tell me how she feels unloved because I don't hug and tell her I love her more often. Apparently she's seen one of her white friends family behave in this manner and thinks that the way we should behave. I'm sorry, I didn't' t have any ideal that she was suffering from love sickness. When I was growing up, we didn't hear all that I love you stuff coming from our parents, but I knew whenever my mother looked at me and smiled that she loved me.
It's like she intentionally chose that church name because I used to say the word coven means the church was full of witches.

Well, Helen after I’ve shown you false information that the Jewish Jesus can not lead you to God because the Jewish is not from us and we are not from him you still decides to follow behind the Jewish people and their prophets.
I think that if you change yourself first your daughter will change. Intelligence and the way you and the rest of us think make a lot of different as we move ahead.
