Did the Hebrew / Jews Build the Pyramids? were they enslaved in Egypt?? (1827 hits)

The stories we hear in Sunday school seem to form the basis for the popular belief that Jewish slaves were forced to build the pyramids in Egypt, but they were saved when they left Egypt in a mass Exodus.
That's the story most of us was raised to believe
DO YOU STILL HOLD THIS TO BE TRUE??

Mr. Soso,

Of course, the biblical story of the Exodus is true! It is true because it was Moses that established the ritual Passover that God commanded him to do that they will always remember how God came and brought them up out of slavery in bondage from Egypt.

To this very day in the state of Israel the true Israelites has been celebrated this ritual Passover the same way it went down 4000 years ago with Moses and the children of Israel as they was coming out of Egypt.

The Jewish people today are able to celebrate this ritual the same way it went down because it was passed down from generation to generation otherwise how would they know how to perform this ritual Passover yearly, they wouldn’t know if it was not passed down to them!

Now, you know that the Jewish people celebrates this ritual Passover and so I have more on my side to claim is true then you will have on your side to claim that the story never happen. I have a ritual Passover on my side, what do you have on your side

Brother Deacon,

Harry cant't even open the book to find chapter and verse. Exodus 1:14 has the word "enslave" and Genesis 15:14 "slave". I will be back after I look these words up in Strong's.

Hello to all,

I believe I have made my point. My intention was to answer the question the blog asked. I’m not playing any games to prove anything to you Steve or the deacon!

My answer was that the Passover proved that the Hebrew people were enslaved in Egypt and I did! I don’t quote from the Bible. The Bible doesn’t guide me. And, I am not interested in the Bible.

Black America’s history is not written in the Bible whatsoever if it was Dr. King and Elijah Muhammad’s names would have been written in the Bible!

Sylvainy,

The word should really be translated as "serve" as it is in the KJV. It is the same word as translated "to serve God". The conflict is serving God or serving Pharaoh (the earthly power). Pharaoh was cast as the villain and that lie is still with us today.

If Jews were not in Egypt at the time of the pyramids, what about Israelites or Hebrews? Israel itself did not exist until approximately 1100 BCE when various Semitic tribes joined in Canaan to form a single independent kingdom, at least 600 years after the completion of the last of Egypt's large pyramids.

Thus it is not possible for any Israelites to have been in Egypt at the time, either slave or free; as there was not yet any such thing as an Israelite. It was about this same time in history that the earliest evidence of the Hebrew language appeared: The Gezer Calendar, inscribed in limestone, and discovered in 1908. And so the history of Israel is very closely tied to that of Hebrews, and for the past 3,000 years, they've been essentially one culture

But if neither Jews nor Israelites nor Hebrews were in Egypt until so many centuries after the pyramids were built, how could such a gross historical error become so deeply ingrained in popular knowledge? The story of Jewish slaves building the pyramids originated with Herodotus of Greece in about 450 BCE. He's often called the "Father of History"

as he was among the first historians to take the business seriously and thoroughly document his work. Herodotus reported in his Book II of The Histories that the pyramids were built in 30 years by 100,000 Jewish slaves [In point of fact, Herodotus only says 100,000 workers.

He does not mention either Jews or slaves. So even this popular belief seems to be in error, and the origin of the idea of Jews building the pyramids remains a mystery - BD]. Unfortunately, in his time, the line between historical fact and historical fiction was a blurry one.

The value of the study of history was not so much to preserve history, as it was to furnish material for great tales; and a result, Herodotus was also called the "Father of Lies" and other Greek historians of the period also grouped under the term "liars".

Many of Herodotus' writings are considered to be fanciful by modern scholars. Coincidentally, the text of the Book of Exodus was finalized at just about exactly the same time as Herodotus wrote The Histories. Obviously, the same information about what had been going on in Egypt 2,000 years before was available to both authors.

Which brings us to the final question: Was there a mass Exodus of Jewish slaves out of Egypt? There is no record of any such thing ever happening, and the simple reason is that there is no time in which it could have happened. No Egyptian record contains a single reference to anything in Exodus; and by the time there were enough Jews living in Egypt to constitute an Exodus, the time of the pyramids was long over

And Pharaoh Ramesses can be let off the hook as well: With apologies to Yul Brynner, no documentary or archaeological evidence links any of the Pharaohs bearing this name with plagues or Jewish slaves or edicts to kill babies. Indeed, the earliest, Ramesses I, wasn't even born until more than a thousand years after the Great Pyramid was completed. His grandson, the great Ramesses II, lived even later.
by Brian Dunning

Some historians have attempted to rationalize the Exodus by drawing parallels to certain cities and trade centers that grew and shrank over the centuries for various reasons. Perhaps one of these economic shifts inspired the story of Exodus. Well, perhaps it did, but the nature of such a migration is, quite obviously, fundamentally different than that depicted in Exodus.

The pseudohistory of ancient Egypt is disrespectful to both Jews and Egyptians. It depicts the Jews as helpless slaves whose only contribution was sweat and broken backs, when in fact the earliest Jewish immigrants were respected allies to the Pharaoh and provided Egypt with a valuable service of both trade and defense.

The pseudohistory also takes away from the Egyptians their due credit for construction of humanity's greatest architectural achievement, and portrays them as evil, bloodthirsty slavemasters. Pretty much every culture in the world at that period in history included slavery and conflict, and the Egyptians probably weren't any better or worse than most peoples.

Understanding history is essential to understanding ourselves. Although a story like Exodus is profoundly important to so many people throughout the world, the history it describes is false; and the faithful are best advised to seek value in it other than as a mere list of events.

Doing so opens the door to a better comprehension of who we are as humans, and it's that shared history that will always unite us — no matter our race, color, or culture. It's just one little more service provided by good science

Sylvainy,

I don't recall any mention of pyramids in the bible, do you? It says the Hebrews labored in the fields and making bricks. These are common occupations. I see the creation of the Jewish religion much the same way that Elijah Muhammed created a new religion, and that in the 20th century no less.

Brother SoSo,

There is no mention of The Hebrews building pyramids in The Book of Exodus or in The Holy Bible. Maybe that's why this statements is not finding any evidence of Hebrews building pyramids because their is none.

Now, we must not let Hollywood control what is written to be fact.

Harry,

Then you must also acknowledge the Christian belief in the expiation of sins by the blood of Christ since the eucharist is still practised today as it was 2000 years ago. In which case you're out of a job.

Mr. Soso,

Why I am compelled to believe the book of Exodus is because of the Passover mentioned in the book of Exodus. Certain things are mentioned that the children of Israel did in the process of leaving Egypt. One of those things mention is the leaven/flatbread. They left in such a haste that the bread was in completed here you. These things the Jewish people today celebrate exactly as it went down in the days of Moses. They prepare and eat the leaven bread as it was done 4000 years ago in the days of Moses.

What I have said cannot be argued with and it is better than any archaeological findings! The Jewish people are able to practice this ritual as precisely as it went down 4000 years ago because it was passed down to them from generation to generation to the present generation

The children of Israel were never enslave in Egypt, However they were enslave in a book called the bible but never in the land of Kemet KMT Egypt
Also there is no evidence outside the bible for the existence of a Moses and if there's no evidence of a Moses then the rest is self explanatory

I agree with you when you say "we must not let Hollywood control what is written to be fact" However the problem is to many of my people quote the Hollywood. 1956, Charlton Heston as Moses went head to head with Yul Brynner as Pharaoh Ramesses II in The Ten Commandments as though it was true and that's what so dangerous

Notice each year Ten Commandments is played on TV around Easter do you think that is an accident?

Mr. Soso,

I am not going to pressure you or call you stupid and ignorant, but I am frustrated with your reply and I’ll explain.

I presented to you the Passover as my proof that the book of Exodus is authentic! This was your reply, “The children of Israel were never enslave in Egypt,”

You are simply saying that the children of Israel were never enslaved in Egypt. On the other hand, I am not simply saying that the children of Israel were enslaved in Egypt, but I am presenting evidence (Passover annual celebration for the past 4000 years) outside of the Bible since the present day Jewish people still practice Passover ritual just as it went down 4000 Years about!

The Passover is what kills your theory and concept that the children of Israel were not enslaved in Egypt!

Like Mr. Deacon, I can not make a valid point and a truthful statement because you will not open your eyes to the truth that I am presenting to back up my point and that is the Passover that the Jewish people today practice the same way it went down 4000 years ago. The only way the present Jewish people could practice the Passover as it went down 4000 years ago it had to be passed down from one generation to the next generation to the present generation resided in the state of Israel.

You need to claim that the Passover doesn’t exist and you can’t do that because it is still practiced today the same way it went down 4000 years ago.

There is a reason why you are not addressing the Passover and the Passover did not come out the book of the dead. You claim that the Jewish people stole everything from the Egyptians, but did they steal the Passover ritual? Hell no! That is because the story of the book of Exodus is true.

I am the one that has all the knowledge, wisdom and understanding and not you or anyone else since I am Black America’s first genuine prophet. What I say can be substantiated!

If you are going to use the bible as proof for the Passover or as proof for anything in history that would be coherently dangerous, history tells us there was never a man or a prophet name Moses in Egypt thus there never was a people call the Jews / Hebrews enslaved in Egypt,

Now if there was no Moses in Egypt to free a people who was not there then there could be no Passover during that time again The Jews / Hebrews do celebrate A Passover; However the Passover they celebrate has nothing to do with Egypt because the Hebrew Moses did not exist

The Passover is practiced but that does not mean it started with an Exodus out of Egypt,
And for the diehard Christens please read Deuteronomy 7:6-8King James Version
6 For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.

7 The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people:

8 But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

If god chose these people Jews / Hebrews above all people that are upon the face of the earth, WHY DO YOU BOTHER GOING TO CHURCH????
