Why haven't they been speaking out in the public media, using the power of their money and position, like: Martin L. King, Marcus Garvey, Nina Simone, James Baldwin, Danny Glover, James Brown, Ruby Dee, Ossie Davis, Mos Def, Tupac, Audre Lorde, Kareem Jabbar, Andrew Young, etc... I could go on and on naming influential Black Americans who have set the bar higher than today's individuals have reached.
Is it the fact that their money comes only at the blessings of the CORPORATIONS?
Our so called Black Elitist need to stop trying to Fitting-In, "What they fail to realize is that They are serious when They say, no matter which ethnic group referring, we all look alike to THEM. ( The Horrid Elitist Minority )
I can remember the backlash Oprah received from her viewers when she endorsed President Obama.
So to me, they could / should operate more like Harriet Tubman...
Yes, I feel our Black family should be financing our on images, businesses, schools, health and senior citizen facilities, etc., but then there is the struggle to get out into Their controlled industry. Black achievers could be returning some of their blessings, whether it is in wealth and or their intellect, and reinvest into the neighborhoods that were abandoned after Affirmative Action.
Before Affirmative Action these same individuals, like Ms. Oprah Winfrey, would have been right there investing in their own neighborhoods, instead of spreading their wealth on the outside.
"No one person can rise above the conditions of their people," - Malcolm X, this is about rebuilding our families and our communities.
Then again, We All don't feel the same way.
Before Affirmative Action
