I'm sure that every soldier out there is familiar with the ritual of tossing away of their Army boots on a power line of some sort. which only meant that individual had 30 days left before leaving the Army and rejoining the civilian world. sometimes it was accompanied by a celebratory drink with comrades or friends.
There was always noticeable the shy of relief of the individual knowing he'd served his country but would be regaining civilian freedom and would be joining family and friends.
Enjoy life and get out and maybe you can get a few golf swings on the green.
