Biblical Archaeology: Ancient Civilization Biblical archaeology really begins with the Sumerian civilization of about 2500 BC. To date, numerous sites and artifacts have been uncovered that reveal a great deal about the ancient Mesopotamian culture. One of the most dramatic finds is the Sumerian King List, which dates to approximately 2100 BC. This collection of clay tablets and prisms is most exciting because it divides the Sumerian kings into two categories; those who reigned before the "great flood" and those who reigned after it. The lists are also dramatic because they include the ages of the kings before and after the "great flood," which show the same phenomenal life span changes mentioned in the Bible. Actually, records of a global flood are found throughout most ancient cultures. For instance, the Epic of Gilgamesh from the ancient Babylonians contains an extensive flood story. Discovered on clay tablets in locations such as Ninevah and Megiddo, the Epic even includes a hero who built a great ship, filled it with animals, and used birds to see if the water had receded (see Genesis 7-8). What has been discovered in biblical lands is strongly supportive of the Bible. To date, over 25,000 sites in biblical lands have been discovered that verify the accuracy of the Bible. Biblical Archaeology: Ancient Law & Culture Biblical archaeology continues with the great military civilizations of ancient Mesopotamia and their ultimate impact on law and culture throughout the region. One significant find is the Law Code of Hammurabi, which is a seven foot tall, black diorite carving containing about 300 laws of Babylon's King Hammurabi (Hammurapi). Dated to about 1750 BC, the Law Code contains many civil laws that are similar to those found in the first five books of the Bible. Another find at the ancient city of Nuzi near the Tigris River uncovered approximately 20,000 clay tablets. Dated between 1500 and 1400 BC, these cuneiform texts explain the culture and customs of the time, many of which are similar to those found in the early books of the Bible.

The Great Flood of Gun-Yu (traditional Chinese: 鯀禹治水), also known as the Gun-Yu myth,[1] was a major flood event in ancient China that allegedly continued for at least two generations, which resulted in great population displacements among other disasters, such as storms and famine. People left their homes to live on the high hills and mounts, or nest on the trees.[2] According to mythological and historical sources, it is traditionally dated to the third millennium BCE, during the reign of Emperor Yao. Archaeological evidence of an outburst flood on the Yellow River (possibly among the worst anywhere in the world in the past 10,000 years) has been dated to about 1920 BCE (several centuries later than the traditional recorded beginning of the Xia dynasty), and is suggested to have been the basis for the myth.[3]
Treated either historically or mythologically, the story of the Great Flood and the heroic attempts of the various human characters to control it and to abate the disaster is a narrative fundamental to Chinese culture. Among other things, the Great Flood of China is key to understanding the history of the founding of both the Xia dynasty and the Zhou dynasty, it is also one of the main flood motifs in Chinese mythology, and it is a major source of allusion in Classical Chinese poetry.
The story of the Great Flood plays a dramatic role in Chinese mythology, and its various versions present a number of examples of the flood myth motif around the world. Flood narratives in Chinese mythology share certain common features, despite being somewhat lacking in internal consistency as well as incorporating various magical transformations and divine or semi-divine interventions like Nüwa.[4][5] For example, the flood usually results from natural causes rather than "universal punishment for human sin".[5] Another distinct motif of the myth of the Great Flood of China is an emphasis on the heroic and praiseworthy efforts to mitigate the disaster;[6] flooding is alleviated by constructing dikes and dams (such as the efforts of Gun), digging canals (as devised by Yu the Great), widening or deepening existing channels, and teaching these skills to others.[5]
Another key motif is the development of civilization and bettering the human situation despite the disaster of the deluge.[6] During the course of fighting, surviving, and eventually getting the inundation problems under control, much progress was also made in terms of land management, beast control, and agricultural techniques. These and other developments are integral to the narrative, and exemplify a wider approach to human health and societal well being than emergency management of the flood and its immediate effects. According to legend, a comprehensive approach to societal development resulted not only in wide-scale cooperation and large-scale efforts to control the flood but also led to the establishment of the first state of China, the Xia dynasty (ca. 2070 – ca. 1600 BC).

Geologic records also document tremendous marine floods into tectonically closed basins. The largest known example is the flooding of the Mediterranean Basin through a breach developed at the Straits of Gibralter—an event now recognized to have caused the faunal upheaval used by early geologist Charles Lyell to divide the Miocene and Pliocene Epochs. Large closed basins are preferentially located in tectonically active regions within the arid subtropical belts. In these regions, long periods of negative water balances allow basin development to proceed without continuous overflow and incision of the flanking topographic divides, thus creating the potential for large water volumes to accumulate before descending over and eroding basin rims during rare times of basin filling. Likewise, episodes of marine floods into closed basins are mainly in semiarid areas, where high evaporation rates keep water levels well below sea level, thus providing the necessary elevation difference for cataclysmic inflow of marine water.

Then from the Nile river valley civilization explore The Nile River, following it north to the northeast quadrant of Africa, these people was of dark skin. Now, with that said, man did not stop exploring his environment.
As man traveled north and east man adapted to his environment. Man lost the melanin in his skin because man needed less protection from the sun and a result man later evolved lighter skin as he adapted to his environment.
Steve, Hinduism did not come into existence or start to develop between 500 BCE and 300 CE. Now, According to the Midrash, the Torah was created prior to the creation of the world, and was used as the blueprint for Creation. The majority of Biblical scholars believe that the written books were a product of the Babylonian captivity (c. 600 BCE)

There are many who think he was a historical figure. That tradition goes something like this:
Shakyamuni ［釈尊・釈迦牟尼］ (; Shakuson or Shakamuni): Also known as Gautama Buddha. The founder of Buddhism. “Shakyamuni” means “sage of the Shākyas,” Shākya being the name of the tribe or clan to which his family belonged. Opinions differ concerning the dates of his birth and death. According to Buddhist tradition in China and Japan, he was born on the eighth day of the fourth month of 1029 b.c.e. and died on the fifteenth day of the second month of 949 b.c.e., but recent studies have him living nearly five hundred years later. The view prevalent among scholars is that Shakyamuni lived from about 560 to about 480 b.c.e., though some scholars hold that he lived from about 460 to about 380 b.c.e. He was the son of Shuddhodana, the king of the Shākyas, a small tribe whose kingdom was located in the foothills of the Himalayas south of what is now central Nepal. Shakyamuni’s family name was Gautama (Best Cow), and his childhood or given name was Siddhārtha (Goal Achieved), though some scholars say the latter is a title bestowed on him by later Buddhists in honor of the enlightenment he attained.

People who are concerned with the historicity of a particular buddha have theorized a variety of dates for his birth and death. The Lotus Sutra itself is not a history such as you believe the Bible is.
