Senate narrowly advances Kavanaugh nomination, key Republican votes 'no'

The embattled Supreme Court nominee's confirmation in a final weekend vote may come down to a pair of undecided senators.

WASHINGTON — The Senate on Friday advanced the Supreme Court nomination of Brett Kavanaugh, 51-49, taking a critical step to open debate before a planned final vote this weekend.
