Army assessment of migrant caravans undermines Trump’s rhetoric (1286 hits)

Army assessment of migrant caravans undermines Trump’s rhetoric
By Nick Miroff, Missy Ryan - The Washington Post

Military planners anticipate that only a small percentage of Central American migrants traveling in the caravans President Trump characterizes as “an invasion” will reach the U.S. border, even as a force of more than 7,000 active-duty troops mobilizes to prevent them from entering the United States.

According to military planning documents, about 20 percent of the roughly 7,000 migrants traveling through Mexico are likely to complete the journey. The unclassified report was obtained and published by Newsweek on Thursday. If the military’s assessment is accurate, it would mean the United States is positioning five soldiers on the border for every one caravan member expected to arrive there.

5 to 1 should be enough to scare off the migrants.

This subject is about The Army assessment of migrant caravans undermines Trump’s rhetoric.

The assessment also indicates military planners are concerned about the presence of “unregulated armed militia” groups showing up at the border in areas where U.S. troops will operate.

Are you concerned about this “unregulated armed militia” inspired by Trump's rhetoric?

Steve, I did not ask you a thing about what you believe, you get that straight right NOW!!! What I asked you was: " Are you concerned about this “unregulated armed militia” inspired by Trump's rhetoric?"

I'm not concerned about something I don't believe. Think Ron. You didn't read the Army report did you?

These “Unregulated Armed Militia” are real and getting bolder and they feel they are empowered to act this way because of Trump's rhetoric.

Don't you see that Steve?

The militia have been patrolling the border for years. It has nothing to do with Trump.

Steve, the President have not ever talked about sending troops to our southern borders for this caravan before. Now that Trump has called for The Army for guard our Southern boarder, what is this “Unregulated Armed Militia” doing? Why do you think is the reason why, they feel that they should be there too?

Who are these “Unregulated Armed Militia?”

Armed militias continue to patrol the United States-Mexico border seeking to repel any migration north, but critics warn that these self-styled ‘freedom defenders’ lingering on private land represent a powder keg that could have “disastrous” consequences.
Near Brownsville, Texas, a group of private citizens simply known as the Patriots were invited to watch 21 acres of border land owned by Rusty Monsees. The group, Reuters reported, has been on the land since early summer, when news reports announced that unprecedented numbers of unaccompanied minors from Central America had crossed the border.

In the first half of 2014, around 52,000 children, among many others, attempted the trek, fleeing poverty, violence, and systemic abuse present in their home nations. Many have ended up warehoused in US military installations and other facilities awaiting their fate amongst an inhospitable, nativist climate. President Barack Obama has vowed some type of immigration reform via executive action in the face of an inert Congress. Yet Obama has said he will not move on reform until after congressional midterm elections in November.

The numerous militias along the border join the US Customs and Border Protection as well as the Texas National Guard. The Patriots Information Hotline, a networking call center, claims 22 groups of “armed patriots” are patrolling the border, from Texas to California.

This article was dated back in 11 Sep, 2014 and have nothing to do with Trump ordering 5,000 no 10,000 no 15,000 Army troops to the southern border, which that article has little to no Bearing on recent orders from the President.

That's right Ron, the militias have nothing to do with Trump. They have acted to prevent illegal immigration in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and now in 2018.

So the problem would be with 15.000 Army troops under the orders of the president and these rogue “Unregulated Armed Militia" to transcontinental criminal organizations, according to documents obtained by Newsweek. All of whom, are acting out of FEAR.

Steve, their are two areas of concern to U.S. intelligence officials involving points of entry and transcontinental criminal organizations is the point of entry in Brownsville, Texas, where the Rio Grande River is located between Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico, and the San Ysidro point of entry, separating San Diego, California from Tijuana, Mexico.

I know that you know nothing about transcontinental criminal organizations but here's some information: THE U.S. Department of the Treasury https://www.treasury.gov/resource-center/s...

The assessment underscored news reports that combatant commanders might encounter unregulated militia members along the southern border in alleged support of U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents.

“Estimated 200 unregulated armed militia members currently operating along the southwest border. Reported incidents of unregulated militias stealing National Guard equipment during deployments. They operate under the guise of citizen patrols supporting CBP [Customs and Border Protection] primarily between POEs [Points of Entry],” according to the documents.

The documents go onto highlight historical protests that support immigrants crossing the U.S. border. Those protests in some cases have shut down points of entry controlled by Customs and Border Protection, but the assessment concludes that protests are “normally peaceful unless extreme right or left groups attend.”

I just wanted to high light this last sentence: protests are “normally peaceful unless extreme right or left groups attend.” Hmmm!!!!

You got it from open source reporting Ron, just like the army. Open source reporting is not real intelligence, especially in November 2018.

MY REPLY: Steve, their are two areas of concern to U.S. intelligence officials involving points of entry and transcontinental criminal organizations is the point of entry in Brownsville, Texas, where the Rio Grande River is located between Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico, and the San Ysidro point of entry, separating San Diego, California from Tijuana, Mexico.

You asked me if I read the report NOT the source

More on the source of that report: Steve that report was a powerpoint presentation from Saturday, the Joint Force Land Component Commander Threat Working Group prepared an intelligence assessment for Pentagon officials as they begin to carry out Operation Faithful Patriot, the interagency operation with the Department of Defense and led by the Department of Homeland Security, that started Tuesday.

Open Source is a news agency do there JOB, reporting the News.

You are sounding real foolish NOW. YOUR WORDS: I means Ron that you did not attend that army briefing, nor did you get that info from someone who attended that army briefing.

MY REPLY: I am not ARMY personnel nor do I know any top BRASS in The United States Army. Steve, what is your point other then trying to cause a diversion of the “Unregulated Armed Militia" to transcontinental criminal organizations, according to documents obtained by Newsweek. All of whom, are acting out of FEAR and opportunity.

Basically the cartel controls at least the first five miles of the U.S. territory,” Oregon resident Mike LaMarte says. “The Border Patrol does the best they can out here, but they’re in and out. And the cartels know the routine and they just operate around them.”

That’s why this team is here. For a week in June, as daytime temperatures hovered above 100 degrees, LaMarte and about a dozen men have paid their own way to camp, train and patrol as volunteers with Arizona Border Recon.

To be certain, the Border Patrol does not affirm the vigilantes’ opinion that federal authorities have no control over the territory.

Still, Border Recon has for the past seven years maintained a presence on this part of the border, conducting weeklong “operations” every other month under the guidance of founder Tim Foley.

Now, here comes The United States Army 15.000 one report that said Trump would be deporting to our southern borders, (Now I know that was said because of the mid-term elections)My QUESTION is simply this:

What is the “Unregulated Armed Militia" or some may use the term vigilantes, going to do now that they know the troops are coming?

Monday, November 5th 2018 at 1:20PM
Dea. Ron Gray Sr.
You'll need to ask the vigilantes Ron, or if you trust them, your open source reporters.

The open source reporters is not the issue when it come to guarding our southern borders Steve, the “Unregulated Armed Militia vigilantes are."

I only hope those fools take in the orders from the U.S. Armed Forces to back down when asked to leave the area.

That would be vary interesting to see, will those fools shoot at the U.S. Army? I hope not.
