The Legacy of "Nan Thai Fine Dining" goes back to the 1990's, I remember visiting their first location on the corner of 10th St., on many occasions while working in downtown Atlanta.
In 2004 Nan restaurant relocated to the corner of 17th & Spring St., just below the famous 17th Street bridge adjacent to Atlantic Station. Nan is the "recipient of the prestigious Four Diamond Award, twelve years in a row, Nan Thai Fine Dining is Thai Food - at it's finest."
Nan is known for it's atmosphere and serenity - the restaurant has an abeyance that is traditional to the Thailand experience, one is greeted with praying hands, soft music is playing in the background, with the "bathroom" being it's star attraction. As a restaurant enthusiastic the bathroom is one of the first things viewed when writing a review - for most it is the important aspect of any fine dining restaurant.
According to General Manager Jason Adjanasuknart the fine dining restaurant is a member of the "Tamarindseed Group" which includes two other sister restaurants "Chai Yo Modern Thai" and "Tuk Tuk Thai Food Loft, all located in the downtown Atlanta area.
Upon reviewing the menu and conversing with my waitress "Nate" I selected - Chao Lay - which was the special of the day - steamed tiger shrimp, jumbo scallops, and lobster tails - in a mild spicy sauce, and served with sticky rice and green beans. The meal was very tasty and the GM topped it off with a free slice of their signature coconut cake paired with vanilla bean ice cream.
Nan Thai Fine Dining is a must when visiting and/or dining in downtown Atlanta.
