Southern Soul/Blues Music is "NOT" a "HIT" in Atlanta Metropolitan!
Southern Soul Breakout Music Festival was held on Sunday, July 7th at the Lithonia Amphitheater.
The event was organized by Starbreakers Entertainment & Buchannon Productions both "Black Owned" outlets, and promoted by Classix 102.9FM and WIGO1570AM. Although, the event was heavily promoted by both mainstream radio am/fm platforms, it proved to be yet another unsuccessful event.
So, what is really going on with the "Southern Soul Movement" in Atlanta?! Absolutely "NOTHING" many Southern Soul/Blues events continue to be unsupported by the Atlanta general public!
In 2019, with several internet and podcast radio platforms streaming "Southern Soul Blues Music" one will begin to analyze the lack of interest for this genre of music in the Atlanta metro area.
The Southern Soul Breakout Music Festival consisted of experience and talented performers, the artist's gave it all that they had on a day that was supposed to make "History" for the movement - only to perform to an audience of a mere fifty - the Amphitheater holds approximately 2K!
The Magnolia, Vibes Lounge, VFW, Events, etc., will not survive if there is no profitable market in the Atlanta metro area.
We have covered many Southern Soul/Blues events over the past three to four years in the Atlanta area - and we wonder - just what will it take to get Atlantans out to support the Southern Soul Movement.
