A Press Release by Norris K. Allen, Sr. to the Nation -2020

The Nation Should Wake up at a Critical Crossroad in America Race Relations.
I am a nobody trying to tell everybody about somebody that knows everybody. A God that sits high on a throne in heaven and the earth is his foot stool. We are all in his hand, if he says we live, we live, and then time has been won’t be no more. We all live under his power; neither you nor I can do the Lord Jesus any harm.

Wake up America, The USPS (United States Postal Service) is the only employer in the United States of America where every American has a part, by buying stamps, sending packages or whatever the postal service handles to keep America the leader of the free world. What the President is doing with the postal service is not like when you try to interrupt a company owner by certain stockholders. What is happening is that all Americans that use the postal service will be affected, the post master general, the president of the United States and all elected officials. All of us should be working to take care of the only service of employees that every citizen uses one way or another. In this pandemic coronavirus environment, the postal service employees are working to get medicine to the sick, packages to our love ones and serving everyone that lives in America and other parts of the world. I thank Dr. Anthony Fauci, a medical scientist under six presidents, who has taken the heat from President Trump. President Trump is not following medical science by not endorsing what will get a handle on this virus. Dr. Fauci is letting us know that scientist says that masking up and social distancing will control the wide spread of covid-19.

The USPS will help our country with mail-in voting and absentee voting (basically the same thing). It seems that the President does not know that mail-in voting and absentee voting is the same. It is my prayer that democracy will work and that it will show the whole world that every vote of each person in America will be counted fairly.

Every member of Congress in both Houses should stand together in solitary against what is going on in Washington, DC. The thought of privatizing postal service in America will make a change for everyone that depends on the service in their daily lives. The United Postal Service has always been a way to send cards to love ones, domestic and foreign from generation to generation. This has been from the time my great grandfather and great grandmother were slaves in Calhoun County, Alabama. Before Black men were mail carriers all United States Postal employees were White males.

I am a nobody trying to tell everybody that free democracy in the United States of America is on the line in the election of 2020. I will name a few true Americans that have been warning us, President Barack Obama, MSNBC Steve Smith, Michael Steele, former Chairman Republican Party and many others from all parties, crying out that America need a change in the White House and for the violence in the streets. We need a leader that will bring community leaders, elected officials and law enforcement together for peace and not to separate people against each another. This is under President Donald Trump’s clock. We need unity from the White House all the way to the prayer house.

It was a sad day in America when the President used our house (the White House) for his political activity, a violation of the Hatch Act which was passed on August 2, 1939. That should be subject to a range of disciplinary action, including removal from federal service. The United States Office of Special Counsel OSC should enforce the Hatch Act because Trump had political activities to benefit his election. All of the events that were held by the Republican Party on government facilities abused the power of their authority of their office when the First lady used the White House Rose Garden and President Trump delivered his acceptance speech for the republican nomination on the South Lawn of the White House. What captured my attention was when President Trump turned the people’s attention to the White House and said “what color is that house”. He wanted his supporters to cry out “White House”. I took that as a slap in the face of the 44th President Obama when he sat on the throne as the first Black person to occupy that house for eight years along with First Lady Michelle, children, Malia and Natasha. President Obama left the people’s house with principles that were extraordinary. I thank President Obama and Michelle for being an example for all of us to follow and for being rated the most admired persons in the world today that occupied the White House.

I am asking a question, why are some Americans nutting up about the movement “Black Lives Matter”, is it because this movement is so diversified? I see a rising army of protesters coming together breaking a chain to demand justice for all America. A quote of one of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s speeches, “When the slaves get together, that’s the beginning of getting out of slavery.” When we maintain unity that is when people come out of slavery. With the unity of Black Lives Matter and all other civil rights organizations working together as a mighty army then justice of free democracy can be obtained.
I want every American to wake up. I want them to look back from the first President George Washington to the 45th President Donald Trump. We had some good republicans as well as democrats. Some did not do well for America as others. I have never been as embarrassed as a citizen as our President Trump takes many republicans down the wrong road by lying and misusing his power. Not all republicans are spellbound and they can stand up against him; other leaders of the party seem to be willing to fall off the cliff with him.

I am very proud of all Americans that have made a stand to save human rights, equality at home and abroad and willing to stand with our allies while Trump is hurting relationships with them. If he is elected for a second term America won’t be known as it has been known from generation to generation as a free democracy from slavery through the American civil war and the Jim Crow’s era. We went through the 50’s and 60’s civil rights era to work on justice for all Americans in this country. This administration is working to turn back the clock on the progress made during that period and trying to separate this country and turn us against each other.

In 2008 I was able to be with candidate Senator Barack Obama on his campaign trail and be a witness of his style of delivering his speeches. They were awesome and affected. After he won the nomination of his party on the main stretch of his campaign he used a new way of organizing his supporters, the millennial and the new generation of voters to get out and vote. In this supersonic age, Obama had a phenomenal extraordinary usual of technology to communicate with the people by using cell phones, text messages and other means to triumph victory in 2008 and 2013. Joe Biden, a democrat presidential nominate can add another technology called the “zoom”, an American way of communication to get people out to vote.

In 2020 I support democrat candidate Joe Biden, senators, local and state candidates for a down-ballot because they understand many issues of Americans and especially people of color. We are in a crisis at this time with a pandemic called Covid-19. He understands following medical science’s direction to get us through this pandemic. It is affecting people of color more than others. This came about because of health problems down through the years. I understand why these conditions exist, less paid jobs, jobs without benefits, and working in hazardous environments. I appreciate companies that deem it mandatory for everyone to wear masks in their facilities.

President Trump is trying to target the Black male voters. I want them to know this election 2020, will be their most important vote for this generation. President Trump is saying vote for me, you have nothing to lose, but we have much to lose. He is in court trying to kill the Affordable Care Act that protects pre-existing health problems. If you get an insurance policy it would cost you much more than normal because of pre-existing conditions. Just think of being married or single and need insurance and get turned down because of pre-existing conditions. Wake-up Black male in America, don’t let anybody fool you. I want you to look at the pasting of the 1965 Voting Rights Act which gave all Americans a right to vote. The Republican Party that’s on the Supreme Court voted to take away some of the key parts out of the Voting Rights Act.

I participated in the trenches of labor force at the General Electric Company industries and other companies for job promotion and better working conditions fighting against injustice and segregation. I have marched over a hundred times across the nation in a span of fifty years for equality and human rights and as a marshal for the Martin Luther King, Jr. National holiday in Atlanta, Georgia, all done pro bono.

In 2015 the NAACP sponsored a march across several states from Selma, Alabama to Washington, DC to reinstate what was taken out of the 1965 Voting Rights Act. The march was called “American Journey for Justice." While in Washington, DC, I visited the offices of both of our Georgia’s United States Senators, Johnny Isakson and David Perdue. They wanted to know the nature of my visit and I told the office manager I was lobbying for the 1965 Voting Rights Act to be reinstated. He said that the senator was out of the office and then I asked for a photo op outside the door of SR131. The office manager took the picture outside of Senator Isakson. Then I went to Senator David Perdue’s office, the office manager stated that the senator was out of the office also. I said to him will you take a picture outside the entrance office door. He did get someone to take the picture of me and the office manager outside of Senator Perdue door SR283.

I am an author of a series of history legacy non-fiction stories that will be in my upcoming book “Excuse Me 3” Amazing Journey Across Three Continents and Six Countries. I am not through writing but my last word and prayer is that every American would wake-up. I am a nobody trying to tell everybody that a second term of President Donald Trump is a threat against democracy of the United States and the way life was in the pass. Some authors are writing and publishing books, putting every American on alert to let us be aware of what is taking place in the Trump administration. Words coming from these authors tell us how to protect a sovereign nation for all future generations. Thank you to many authors, to name a few, Jon Ellis Meacham, Mary Trump, Rick Wilson, John Bolton, Peter Strzok and Bob Woodward an American Investigative Journalist and many others.

We thank all the persons for trying to defend the democracy for which this country was founded. Thank you to Rev. Al Sharpton, PoliticsNation, Don King, Journalist for CNN, Wolf Blitzer, News Anchor Situation Room, Don Lemon, CNN, Chris Cuomo, CNN, Lawrence O’Donnell, MSNBC, Rachel Maddow, Liberal Political Commentator MSNBC, John Cooper, Primary Anchor CNN, Brian Williams, Chief Anchor “The 11th Hour Commentator” MSNBC, and Joy Reid, Political Commentator MSNBC and many others not named.

I support and participate in the “Black Lives Matter” movement for many reasons. First I am an American and I believe everyone should be treated fairly under the law and not be discriminated because of their color. I am an entrepreneur and a career worker in GE industry and I do pay taxes. Black Americans put three trillion or more in the American economy each year.

I appreciate the blacks and whites that are professional athletes in the sports world for supporting the black lives matter movement. Just think about all their billions of dollars in taxes for the USA and investments for the youth and for many other things that they bring into our communities. I want the athletes to know that we as citizens of this country appreciate them for giving their sports arena a place to cast our vote. This will be very important to help eliminate some of the long lines when that time come.
Weather we are young or old we cannot sit on the sideline in silent and let anybody in our community, city, state, nation, elected officials or appointed officials, or a reactionary make us turn back our civil rights history. I am reminding all of us, when we are in the gloomy shadow of the night and don’t know what lies ahead, we must lock together with each other and weather the storm.

First Lady Michelle Obama said that President Trump has had more than enough time to prove that he can do the job but he is clearly in over his head. He cannot meet this moment. He simple cannot be who we need him to be for us. “It is what it is,” she said. He is now telling North Korea’s Kim Jong-un to stop building nuclear weapons and at the same time telling author Bob Woodward that the United States has built nuclear weapons that no other country has. That was not a wise thing to say when we know we have a Nuke race on hand, not only in North Korea and other countries like China and Russia but the list goes on and on. Under President Obama and Joe Biden’s administration the most dangerous terrorist in the world was killed, Osama Bin Laden. Osama Bin Laden was responsible for the attack that killed nearly 3000 persons at the Twin Tower in New York City. The killing of Osama was carried out on May 2, 2011 in Abbottabed, Pakistan. The terrorists that were killed under Trump’s administration, Qasem Soleimani and Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi were not on the scale because they did not kill as many Americans as Osama Bin Laden.

As the Presiding Bishop of the Overcoming Church of God of America from 1994 to 2012, I did not blame my predecessors for things facing me during my administration. I was able to bring the Board of Bishops together in unity and they were able to solve many problems. As a leader of this nation, President Trump must take on the responsibility for the riots in the streets and stop separating the people against each other for this is happening under his clock. I say to you Mr. President, you can’t say blame candidate Joe Biden for what’s happening today because he is not sitting on the throne. Joe Biden demonstrated that if he is elected what he would do when he went to Wisconsin to meet with the Blake family. He also called the elected officials, community leaders, law enforcement all together and talked about coming up with a solution to calm the riots, that is a true leader.

For over sixty years, I have been a successful entrepreneur operating under the business name, Sirron Development. As a developer, I have developed commercial property, subdivisions, and rental properties. In 1997, twenty-three years ago, I retired from the General Electric Medium Transformer Department of the World as the leader of steel trade carpenters. During those years when I worked for GE as an employee, and as an entrepreneur, I always fought for justice for myself as well as the benefactors who followed in my footsteps. I always had futuristic ideas that would benefit my family and the larger community.

Covid-19 has affected the Black race and persons of color in their business because they do not have the capital to pay their employees in a failed economy. I understand how hard it is for Black businesses to be successful even when things are good, it doesn’t come easy. The main thing for me and others is that the banks do not treat us the same as the White race. I had a good credit score when I started my business but it was still hard to get money from the banks. They would only let me have one-third of what my business appraised. In 1987, I opened a convenient store called “G & N One Stop Plaza. I Thank God that I had rental property to sale in order to pave the parking lot and buy inventory; therefore I was able to open the store on August 21, 1987. For several years the store was number one in sale of gas purchased from Texaco Marmac Oil Company. Every time I needed money to improve my business, the bank, without an explanation, would not lend me enough money to do what was needed. I also thank God for giving my wife and me the wisdom to keep our heads above the water. So many Blacks can’t go through a recession and survive but have to close their businesses.

The most non-violent powerful weapon is the Vote!
