Ben Crump on mass shooting: Hold accountable those who "curate hate" David Morgan As the city of Buffalo, N.Y., and the nation, reacts to Saturday's mass shooting in a predominantly Black neighborhood in which 13 people were shot, 10 fatally, an attorney for the family of an 86-year-old grandmother who was killed is calling for those who radicalize white supremacists to be held accountable. In a statement released Sunday, attorney Ben Crump, who is representing the family of Ruth Whitfield, said, "Yesterday, we witnessed the deadliest mass shooting of 2022, perpetrated by a self-proclaimed white supremacist who set out to do one thing: kill Black people. … We are thoroughly investigating the shooting and the events leading up to it." Appearing on "CBS Mornings" on Monday, Crump said, "It's important that we not only hold accountable this individual who committed this hateful act, but we hold accountable those who curate this hate, who radicalize these young white supremacists." Photos emerged of the rifle allegedly used by Payton Gendron, 18, that appear to show the misspelled name of Virginia Sorenson, as well as that of a possible other parade victim, on its barrel, the Daily Beast said.

The Trump mainstream of the GOP is no longer a normal political party; it’s become an open advocate of the oligarchic values and systems that ran the South before 1865.
You are a poor or middle class white American being used to do the leg work of the oligarchic's in this country and you are using the tool of hatred to throw off your true intent.

Steve, can you show me where Salvadore Ramos had taken or passed any background check? Because if Salvadore Ramos did take a background check. The fact that a just turned 18 year old male child would by a rifle and A.R. fifteens and 350 rounds of Ammunition send off Red alerts that would have been heard before now.
Where did you get that information that this murderer of 19 children and two adult teachers passed a background check before purchasing those weapons. Show me where a background check was required for purchase of those weapons in Texas. Can you provide that information please?

Firearm Purchases from Gun Dealers
In order to purchase a “standard” firearm from a licensed gun dealer (FFL), the customer must first fill out the ATF Form 4473. This is, of course, unless the person has their own FFL in which case they can buy guns at a discount and have them shipped directly to them.
The Form 4473 requires information about the identity of the purchaser and their current residential information. This not only provides a method for law enforcement to contact/find the purchaser if needed but it also confirms the purchaser’s state of residency.
For handgun purchases, the purchaser must be a resident of the state where the FFL is located. For long gun (rifle and shotgun) purchases, however, an out-of-state resident may purchase a rifle or a shotgun in any state as long as it is legal in both the state of purchase and the purchaser’s home-state.
The 4473 then asks a series of yes/no questions to determine whether the purchaser is a prohibited person and requires that the purchaser signs the form to confirm the accuracy of the information.
The gun dealer/FFL checks a valid government issued ID from the purchaser, fills out information about the firearm(s), and then conducts a background check (if applicable). Depending on the state, the background check is either run through the federal National Instant Criminal Check System (NICS) or it is run through a state agency (these are called Point of Contact, or POC, States). More on this below.
Also, in some states, a customer who has a valid concealed carry permit (CCW) may be exempt from needing a background check for each purchase. A table of qualifying NICS-exempt permits is included below.
After the background check requirements have been met and payment for the firearm, the purchaser may take possession of the firearm.
In the case of a special class of firearms, called National Firearms Act (NFA) firearms, more restrictions apply. This special class of firearms includes machine guns, silencers, short barreled rifles, short barreled shotguns, and “any other weapons.”
In order to purchase an NFA firearm, the customer must fill out an application and send it directly to the ATF along with a special tax (usually $200), their fingerprints, and a passport photo. Then, they get to wait many months (currently around a 10 month wait) for approval before they are lawfully allowed to possess the firearm that they already paid for. But Texans can, and often do, buy guns without background checks. Contrary to the Facebook post, the permitless carry law, HB1927, passed by the Legislature and signed by Abbott, has no effect on purchase and ownership regulations.

The following weapons are regulated under the National Firearms Act (NFA):

Steve in Texas, residents are allowed to purchase AR-15 rifles without a permit or waiting period. They also are allowed to openly carry these guns without a permit. The gun does not need to be registered.

In fact, Ramos did it as soon as he was of legal age, "it was the first thing that he did on his 18th birthday," Gutierrez said, as reported by NBC.

Are there transfers that are exempt from the NICS background check requirement?
Firearm transfers are exempt from the requirement for a NICS background check in three situations:
Transfers to transferees who have a state permit that has been recognized by ATF as an alternative to a NICS check;
Transfers of National Firearms Act weapons to persons approved by ATF; and
Transfers certified by ATF as exempt because compliance with the NICS background check requirement is impracticable.

Oasis Outback is a licenced FFL Ron. The guns were transferred from Oasis Outback to Salvadore Ramos. According to FEDERAL law, not Texas law, that means Salvadore Ramos was required to take and pass a NICS background check. Since he obviously took possesion of the guns, HE OBVIOUSLY PASSED NICS. No Ron, the NFA procedure did not happen in Ramos's case. I gave you the list of things that come under NFA. I came under NFA when I purchased a silencer. If I had $10,000 and wanted to buy a fully automatic Vietnam War era M16, THAT would come under NFA. Semiautomatic rifles like the AR15 DO NOT come under NFA. I've explained this to you many times before.
To your P.S. I'm not protecting that child killer. He's the victim of a fatherless home and there are many of them. On Texas versus Federal law I suggest you take a trip to Texas and try and buy a gun, to cure you of your epic IGNORANCE.
