On Saturday, July 8th on or about 8am, the City of South Fulton (COSF) Police Department responded to a "trespass & burglary call" on a lake front property on Cascade-Palmetto Hwy., which appeared to be abandoned with weeds and overgrown grass. However, there was a "no trespassing/private property" sign posted. Upon arrival the police discovered the property owner was holding the mayor at gunpoint.
Flash forward - the COSF police arrested the Mayor on the above charges and it was later discovered that the mayor had gone onto the property while walking his dog because "he was considering purchasing" the property. Now civic & community leaders are calling for the mayor to resign - "State Representative Roger Bruce, Pamela Harvey, Daphne Jordan, Otis Strong, Wanda Thornton and others" according to Facebook & Fox 5 News video on YouTube @

But many residents, and those who support the mayor as indicated in the video above - they are asking is the mayor entitled to a fair trail under the law? The charges does not appear to fit the crime - as to what was the mayor "intent" surely it was not of a criminal nature. Therefore, the mayor should have received a citation for trespassing.
The COSF police department could have handled this situation in a different manor since the mayor was not of a threat nor had he taken anything from the property. One thing of interest is "who" made the decision to have the mayor arrested!!
Many residents continue to blame the mayor for hindering the progress of the newly formed city, but there is something in the "City of South Fulton" that stinks and it's not just the mayor!
