The Queen's Chair: If You're Not Getting Married...Buy A House
I made a promise to myself when I turned 30. I decided if I wasn't married by age 35, I would buy a house. I had been saving for a house for about three years thinking that I needed a lot of money for a down payment. I was wrong.
Life is funny. It's also unpredictable. At 33, I got married. At 34, I had my first child. Then a summer later,I went to a special seminar and only needed (at the time) to put three percent down. I spent that summer searching for my perfect house. I found it in the fall and six days before Christmas, I moved my young family into our new home.
I say this because frankly, I'm tired of people who wait for "Mr. Right" or "Mrs. Right" before they pursue their dreams. It makes no sense to me putting your life on hold. Nobody knows how much time they have on this Earth, but depending on someone else for your own happiness is a mistake.
New year. New goals. Follow your dreams. Live your life and invest in yourself

You are so right about life being uncertain to be waiting around on the perfect time to do something! I bought my first townhouse when I was 24! It felt so good to be a homeowner and to top it off, I had wonderful neighbors who looked after me.
